Water Works / 5/3/12 Water Works Mini

29 for Water Works Mini on a fine evening for a round. The park was freshly mowed and looking lovely. Low 80's with winds of 5-15.

Arturo shot a hot 46 in Open that included two bogies and a run of six birdies on holes 6-11. Old Pike Mike ruled in Masters with a 51. Rodney had a nice 55 to lead the Advanced, while Lucky and Jen won Intermediate and Women.

The battle for the #1 tag was close. Neenan had the lead most of the round but got Water-Worked twice letting Billy and I back into the show. It was a three way tie going into the last hole. Billy parked it to win the tag and the Dynamic Discs CTP, taking home an Elite X Comet.

Water Works / 4/26/12 Water Works Mini - Ace!!

39 for golf on a beautiful Thursday evening. Low 70's with breezes under 10.

Johnny B made an appearance and took Open with a hot 45, beating his personal best on the course by four. Three ladies were in attendance and Suzette led the way with a 68. CD stomped the Masters shooting 50. Derek Newman won Advanced at 56 and Lucky Brockman took down his brother in Intermediate carding a 71.

Chris Timko won the DD CTP when he hit an ACE on hole 3 short with an Ion. From what I've seen, in the basket will usually win the CTP. Nice shot Chris!! The ace pool was at $490. One ace diet soda for me please...

Water Works / 04/19/12 Water Works Mini

29 for a round at the WW on a cool, breezy evening. Temp in the mid 50's with winds of 10-15 from the south that were switching to the north as we played. The course had been mowed and looked beautiful.

Arturo held off TanK by one in Open at 46. Old Pike Mike taught the old dogs a few new tricks shooting 52. Rodney Beagle led the Ams coming in at 60.

James Farmer won the Dynamic Discs CTP on hole 3 but left without his prize. James you will have a disc waiting next time you show.

11 for Black Thorn Easter golf on a gorgeous day at the lake. Mid 60's with winds under 10.

C-Dub led the way with a nice 54. He was bogey free through 14.

The highlights mostly came on hole 15. On our card Andrew threw in a long one for a four. The other card went 3-4-5-6-7 for the straight. Pete got a three without using the fairway. I was told he threw the big anny beach route and then threw over the trees to the green.

Water Works / 4/5/12 Water Works Mini

30 out for the first KCFDC mini of the year at Water Works, including Arttu Sikanen from Finland, who is in the area for the upcoming GBO in Emporia.

Temp in the mid 50's with winds of under 10. No mow yet for the course but it looked great on such a fine evening.

TanK led the way at 47 winning Open by two. Minna shot 64 in Women. Loomis had a nice 51 to take Masters. Dan Howard, Ash Lawrence, and Greg Utz all came in at 58 in Advanced.

Your own Mark (Some people call him Maurice) Stiles won the Dynamic Discs CTP on hole 3 and snagged a Blizzard Wraith.

We will tee at 5:30 for one more week and then go to 6:00.

Eight showed for an April Fools round at the Woodhenge. The joke was on us I guess as no one was able to break 70. Temp in the low to mid 80's and winds of 10-15 with gusts over 20.

Mary played the course for the first time and said it was not as tough as she expected. She had a nice six on 15 and played pretty darn well I think. Hope you guys find your keys!

Just five out for golf at Wind Thorn on a warm day at the lake. Temp in the low 70's with winds of 15-20 and gusts to 30.

We all had at least a seven on our line of the card. 15 through the woods is AMAZING!!! Exactly what I've hoped it would be. Who ever did the clearing really nailed it. Thank You!!!! 14-18 is a nasty finishing stretch.

11 for some Sunday Woodhenge action on a warm, breezy day at the lake. Mid 50's with winds of 10-20, gusting to 30. It was an on and off wind that you couldn't trust much.

Only a couple managed under par on the day. Caleb and Jamie both came in at 61. Corbett was right behind at even par.

Plenty of action at Paradise Pointe with groups on the other courses too, including a road-tripping group from Minnesota that planned on playing all three.

Winter Leagues / 3/1/12 Water Works Glow

25 on a glorious evening at Water Works. 64 and calm when we started, 52 and windy when we finished. It was fun to experience the front come through. With a few holes left the north wind kicked in and a 10 degree drop seemed to happen instantly.

The course was a shorter this week for the ace hungry crowd. Herberto chained out on 13 short so it pushes on to the last week of the glow season. Rumor has it that the course will be even shorter.

It took 9 down to be in the money. Caleb and Arturo led the way at -11.

15 for a round at breezy Beaver Creek. Low 60's with winds of 15 gusting to 25. A beautiful day to be out and the lake was busy with kiters, boaters, walkers, golfers, fishers, and who knows what allers.

21 for some Blackthorn on another fine Sunday. Upper 40's with no wind when we started. It's the calmest I've seen it yet out there with water like glass from one side of the lake to the other. It did pick up a bit as we played but never got over 10.

Steve Dresser had the hot round at 51 with no fours. Looking at the card I see he got threes every hole on the back. Very nice!

Some of us had a rough day. The double circle nine didn't help my cause much. Ah but I got three threes on hole 10, so there Dresser.

As usual many stayed to play one of the other courses.
