Water Works / 09/27/12 Water Works Mini
« on: September 27, 2012, 10:55:55 PM »
21 out for the last club league of the season. Another perfect Thursday evening with temp right at 70 and very little wind.

The shorter course set up led to some nice scores. Jamie Danger led all from the Masters shooting 46. I hear tell it's a course personal best. C-Dub took Open at 47 and Mike Fenton won Advanced with a 56. I shot my age and broke par for the first time this year at WW. (I just told my son I shot my age and without hesitation he responded "You shot 400?!)

Mini stats for those with five weeks or more at

Arturo easily led the standings this year averaging 48.4. The league average was 58.6.

Hyzer: PDGA Score Postings ---> then click 'Show Round Ratings'

The real story of the day was Teddy Keith's 958 rated round 2. Go Teddy! stellar play!

Thanks Greg! It was a great round for me on that course. I don't often break 60 at Cliffy. Still not enough to catch the great G$ after my 918 first round.

Are you kidding me?  I felt that I played horrible!  Although I was water-worked HARD......#7, hit the dead center of the chains, and the pole, and came right back out and landed on the ground.......Then as the Bicyclist that was roaming the grounds was around on #12, I attempt a roller, that started off as it should.....hit a downed tree limb......rolls west along the line towards the far left basket.....rolls.......rolls down the hill........across the street.....URGH!!!!!  Not to learn a lesson, try again!  SO this time the roller misses any tree limbs, and appears to do as it should, goes almost into the yard between the basket and #13 down by the little hole that is there, and I can the putt for a was pretty cool.

Thanks Ted for running league, this news is almost as good as me giving tag #296 to Ken H. for tag #59..... ;D

Glad I got to see Matise out there as well!

Great to see you out Jack!  The rest of us obviously played more horriblier than you did.  :'(  It was the bad roller lost disc five on 12 and the in the dark five on 18 that did me in.

Murph made an appearance and won Open with a 51. Mark Mills took a night off work to come win Masters by three. Eddie C shot 61 in Advanced.

Frank Weaver accomplished two unusual things on his way to an even par. He had nothing but threes on his card. 18 of them. He also black aced 16 from 14 tee pad.  :P

39 for Water Works Mini on a warm evening. Mid 90s with breezes about 5.

Arturo and Billy tied at 47 in Open. Jamie took Masters with a strong 49. Brent Cady won Advanced shooting 61.

Arturo also halved the ace pool hitting 18 short with a Destroyer. He will be paid $333 after dues. Nice!!!! I'm pretty sure it's his first ace.

Jamie Barry won the Dynamic Discs CTP which must not have been on hole 18.

Thanks for running the show Bill! We had a great time watching The Grandmothers of Invention at Knuckleheads.

I see you finally got away with it TJ... you brought me a good laugh "old man".

Jesse James golf at 5:30 today. Should be free root beer if Jamie makes it. Not even supposed to hit 90 degrees!

Low 100s and almost no breeze for three of us in Kearney.

Jamie was heating up some baskets with and ace on 9 and one off the yellow band on 16. I was skunked for the second week in a row on skins. If you want some easy quarters, just come play skins with me on Sundays.

Matt had his revenge after a rough round last week.

There is a nice front page article in the Kearney paper this week about the golf course with a large picture of Jamie putting.

In other words, SMITHVILLE'S BEEN MOWED! Its really fun to play when she's clean cut. Finding discs are a breeze. We're playing a sunday round if anyone wants to join.

Yeah, it's short everywhere. Jamie and I finished a round on Big Woody in under two hours this morning.

If the timing works for you I'll be at Jesse James 5:30 Sunday. 20 minutes from the lake.
