Winter Leagues / 3/31 Water Works Glow
« on: April 01, 2005, 09:44:38 pm »
A season high 28 for the last official glow of the winter. A beautiful evening for a stroll in the park. The weather and short course made for a tight round.

Thank you to all who played for making it another great winter of Thursday Glow. Thanks to MoKan for their help with the kick off tournament. Thanks to Brad Ford for the spiffy lantern. Special thanks to TJ Ring for all the help and for passing out...... cards every week. TJ's final putt of the glow season fittingly hit the basket and rolled 60 feet.

It has now been two years since an ace has been hit in our little league. We will begin next season with the pot at $1015.

Final standings and stats will be posted at a later date.

Jamie Barry - Larry Balmer   -8   $40

Beginners / Hello all
« on: March 30, 2005, 08:06:20 pm »
Good call Sean.

If you are just picking up disc golf the beginners league is a great place to start. You do have to put up with Paul... but even so it's a perfect way to learn the basics of our sport.

The other club leagues do have a weekly entry fee. Depending on interest there will be various divisions, which may include:

Women
Open
Masters (40+)
Advanced
Intermediate

The Open and Masters divisions are generally paid back in cash. The amateur divisions are paid back in KC Kash. Monopoly type money that can be used to purchase discs or other club merchandise.

Tournaments / Peter Pan Park in Emporia...
« on: March 20, 2005, 08:14:07 am »
Played PPP yesterday. A great little course in an awesome park!

I always thought the park was magical when I lived in Emporia and after some of my shots yesterday I still believe it is. A few drives that had no business gettng through the trees and two that were basically hanging on the river banks dry. Finished at -2.

Had a little trouble finding 17's pad and the path off of 18 got us. Funny, there was another group playing in front of us and they wandered off down the path too. It just looks like it must be the way to go. I bet a lot of people will fall for that one the first time through. At least it takes you to a nice spot on the river. :c)

Good job Emporia golfers!!

Ted
