General Banter / Re: Non DG player need winter coat
« on: November 15, 2014, 11:01:22 AM »
Just saw this thread and its great to see the KC Disc Golf community step up. My dad started a halfway house 45 years ago for recovering alcoholic's called the Welcome House and the site is welcomehousekc.org and every fall and winter we look for men's jackets and belts for the 70 or so guys that are they at any given time. I'm sure somebody knows a place where women's and children's coats are needed and can be dropped off. So whoever has a coat in the closet that they aren't using, somebody would have it on today.
Ill be at the meeting tonight if anyone wants to bring one and we will get it to someone in need, Thanks

Rosedale / Re: Trimming up @ Rosedale?
« on: July 23, 2014, 01:49:09 PM »
I will be doing that this Saturday morning if anyone wants to meet me there.

Timko, I will be there this weekend to weed eat those holes. The idea we use when we move it is for the players to walk it down and it works out well. I will be pulling out the old wood also that is laying in the brush on number one and other fairways.

Tournaments / Work Day at Rosedale on Sunday 9:00am
« on: June 13, 2014, 03:00:31 PM »
There will be a work day at Rosedale on Sunday 6-15-14 at 9:00am and we will be weed eating so come on out if you have time. Should only take a couple of hours since we hit it hard last year and trimmed and cut down most everything that needed it. So please bring weed eaters and string line out Sunday morning.
Thanks,

WYCO / Re: Moving league to Wednesday?
« on: March 14, 2014, 10:17:35 AM »
I heard Wyco league has changed to Wednesday night, is that correct? The Friday night league was a great league night  for that destination park. The KCFDC has done a great job establishing league nights and sticking to them over the years so people from all over remember when a league is and make the trek to go play it. Friday worked great for Wyco because it was a destination and normally you didn't have to work on Saturday so you could drive out there and play then hang out or go to the Legends and grab something to eat. This is disappointing that they moved it to try and do what?  Drive the attendance up? By competing with another Wyandotte County Park for Players? I don't think you will drive attendance up at all but just the opposite it will go down. Please try this out and if its not working  don't hesitate to move it back to Friday. The Lawrence players and the Kansas City players will appreciate it.
Thanks, Pete

Tournaments / Re: Midwest Tourney

What division are you going to be playing in and what do you normally shoot at say Swope or Rosedale? The answers to these questions will help the people your asking answer them better. Some tourneys have a better AM experience that others and some have a better Pro experience.

General Banter / There are 7 new trees at Rosedale Park
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:51:07 AM »
If you haven't played Rosedale Park, Last Friday the WYCO parks installed 7 new trees on the course. These 7 new Trees were paid for from the donation box $200 at hole 1 at Rosedale and Dynamic Discs $750 to continue to give back to the players that use Rosedale Park. Thank you to all that donated and continue to donate to the donation box. The KCFDC who manages the money from the donation box and Dynamic Discs are committed to giving back to the community that uses the course by donating and installing trees at Rosedale over the next several years to really define the course and make it challenging for the players.
