« on: June 03, 2013, 10:40:44 pm »
Just wanted to start acknowledging and Thanking the people that are working at Rosedale to get it ready for the Wide Open. So far John P3 and Paul Salierno have been busy cleaning up the down trees on hole #1 by the basket. They both have also been weed eating this past week. Jay Rivard will be marking the 10 meter circles and the out of bounds after this next mow. I have had several people that cant make it Saturday but will come out this week and weed eat a hole or two.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday.
 Thanks, Pete

Tee Pad #1 helpers are Jay, Easy, Chris, GI Dave, Hans, Matt Dixon, Heath, James and I know there were a couple of more people and I apologize I cant think of them at this time. The next thing to do is plant some Rose Bushes next to the pad this week to finish off the #1 Tee Pad!

Disc Golf Topics for Women / Monday Womens League
« on: March 29, 2013, 08:44:33 am »
Just wanted to let all the new players and women know that after talking to Ben and Rhonda and how well the clinics went last year that Dynamic Discs will be presenting more clinics for the Monday leagues. We will start these earlier this year so we wont get into your playing time unless you want to stick around for additional tips.
The first league of the season is Monday April 1 and Laron "Whoman" Harris will be at Rosedale at 5:00pm to start a weekly series of clinics and really go in depth on the strategies of disc golf and how to approach everything from your discs to the shots your about to throw.
For those new players that havent heard of Laron Whoman Harris he is a Professional Disc Golfer that played at the highest level around the Midwest and won many PDGA events. He is also a great teacher of the game and Eric McCabe credits Laron as being his Mentor growing up in the sport.
Also Innova Pro Ken "Tank" Franks will be doing a few clinics also later in the month and I will let you know when that will happen. Ken is another great teacher and his "On Tour" expierence is priceless.

General Banter / Down Under Thanks
« on: September 04, 2012, 09:33:40 am »
Dynamic Discs organized a work day on Sunday spent 2 hours cleaning with the help and thanks to Jay Rivard, Danny Knox, Ben Hansen and myself ( also Dan Cashen's cart). We hauled 24 bags of trash out of the Down Under and got all the trash out. I will be working on a sign this week to get made up talking about keeping the bottles out and "Pack it in Pack it out".
There has been a lot of work done Down Under and if anyone can post the names we would all like to know who everyone is. Also the club tracks the time to talk to the various Parks Departments about what our players give back.
Thanks to all who give back!

General Banter / DownUnder
« on: April 29, 2011, 08:35:30 pm »
Hey everyone that plays Rosedale and Downunder we need some help cleaning up the DU course. The next time you play one of these courses in the next week please adopt a hole and bring a trash bag with you and just get as much as you can haul out of there. It doesn't have to be done all at once but a bunch of people will put a dent in it. Lets show the masses what the club can do when we put our minds and back into it. I will be there this weekend and will get the two hardest holes to get to. Please drop the bags by a barrel up top and the Parks will get them from there.
Thanks for the effort KC!

Swope / Dans Dog Salomon
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:18:48 pm »

Dan Cashen's oldest dog Salomon has died today. If any one has played Swope Park or Blue Vally disc golf courses in the past 14 + years you have seen the dog out with Dan. This dog and getting him out to run the park has given Dan the opportunity to work at Swope and Blue Valley for countless hours and untold monies spent out of pocket that we will never know the final total. Salomon is just as responsible as a volunteer helping Dan at the course and keeping him going. When you work at the courses and your by yourself with your Dog you don't mind staying and finishing up what you started that day. And when your following the dog through the Park you come up with Ideas for the course or the new holes that lay in the brush. The dogs are like family to those of us that don't have children and you lose one to old age it hurts as you all know.
So next time you see Dan or Colleen remember their dog.
Thanks, Pete
