Come on down and watch the top women and men pros in our sport play disc golf in Emporia this week. Saturday for the finals and Sunday for the doubles will be a great weekend of disc golf!

Paul Ulibarri and Catrina Allen (Current Women's World Champion) of Prodigy Disc Golf will be putting on a Clinic at Water Works before league this Thursday evening 4/16 at 5 pm. They are offering the clinic and would like for anyone who wants to donate to go to the St. Judes Disc Golf Tourney and donate to their fundraising efforts for the St. Judes event. This should take 30 to 45 minutes of instruction and questions so you can still make WW league. Please come out and ask questions and see how the Touring Pros play and train for disc Golf.

"Please encourage KCFDC members and other disc golfers to provide comments regarding their desires to have  a disc golf course at the old Meadowbrook Country Club property that will be a new 88 acre Johnson County Park.  There is a public meeting today Tuesday the 10th and tomorrow Wednesday the 11th from 4-8:00 pm in the club house at 91st and Nall and the meetings are open to the public.  We will be taking park development suggestions at these meetings".

I just talked to Bill from the Johnson County Parks Department who is a disc golfer and he suggested having disc golfers and residents of JOCO to show up to have input in the direction of this new Park. Lets really show up in strong numbers to get a great disc golf course into the area.

Please pass the word around and could someone post this to the Facebook page! Thanks

General Banter / Down Under Hole 9 Area
« on: March 09, 2015, 10:47:01 AM »
I just been asked by the WYCO Parks Department and the KCK Police Department to remove the Fire Pit and the extra benches down there. The Parks Department said okay to one bench per hole. They have been called out to the park and found people hanging out down there after the Park Closed hours. They don't want anyone in the park after hours so we all need to help get the word out to stay out of the park after hours.
We have a great relationship with the Parks so let's help them out by taking care of this for them.
Thank you

General Banter / Wyco League Change?
« on: March 14, 2014, 10:13:38 AM »
I heard Wyco league has changed to Wednesday night, is that correct? The Friday night league was a great league night  for that destination park. The KCFDC has done a great job establishing league nights and sticking to them over the years so people from all over remember when a league is and make the trek to go play it. Friday worked great for Wyco because it was a destination and normally you didn't have to work on Saturday so you could drive out there and play then hang out or go to the Legends and grab something to eat. This is disappointing that they moved it to try and do what?  Drive the attendance up? By competing with another Wyandotte County Park for Players? I don't think you will drive attendance up at all but just the opposite it will go down. Please try this out and if its not working  don't hesitate to move it back to Friday. The Lawrence players and the Kansas City players will appreciate it.
Thanks, Pete

General Banter / There are 7 new trees at Rosedale Park
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:51:07 AM »
If you haven't played Rosedale Park, Last Friday the WYCO parks installed 7 new trees on the course. These 7 new Trees were paid for from the donation box $200 at hole 1 at Rosedale and Dynamic Discs $750 to continue to give back to the players that use Rosedale Park. Thank you to all that donated and continue to donate to the donation box. The KCFDC who manages the money from the donation box and Dynamic Discs are committed to giving back to the community that uses the course by donating and installing trees at Rosedale over the next several years to really define the course and make it challenging for the players.
