Tournaments / Glass Blown Open in Emporia all this week
« on: April 25, 2015, 09:47:35 am »
The GBO is in Emporia Kansas starting on Tuesday with a one round challenge C tier at Peter Pan and 160 people signed up. A one round challenge C tier on Wednesday with 190 players signed up at Jones West. The GBO starts on Thurs- Fri - Sat at all of the courses in Emporia. Then on Sunday there is a Doubles Tourney, for the Open Men the payout is $3000.00 for 1st place so all of the top pros are pairing up for this and it will be a great time at Country Club and Jones East watching these guys shred these courses. All of the info is on and there is also an app you download for your phone.
Come on down and watch the top women and men pros in our sport play disc golf in Emporia this week. Saturday for the finals and Sunday for the doubles will be a great weekend of disc golf!

Paul Ulibarri and Catrina Allen (Current Women's World Champion) of Prodigy Disc Golf will be putting on a Clinic at Water Works before league this Thursday evening 4/16 at 5 pm. They are offering the clinic and would like for anyone who wants to donate to go to the St. Judes Disc Golf Tourney and donate to their fundraising efforts for the St. Judes event. This should take 30 to 45 minutes of instruction and questions so you can still make WW league. Please come out and ask questions and see how the Touring Pros play and train for disc Golf.

The Meeting went well. For those that are going today you just walk in and sit through a small presentation and/ or then walk into the other room and post it note disc golf on the Parks and Rec map and the big map in the middle of the room. For those not able to attend and that are residents of JOCO please contact Parks and Rec and your city councilman and let them know what you think should go there. Thanks again there were several people last night that attended.

"Please encourage KCFDC members and other disc golfers to provide comments regarding their desires to have  a disc golf course at the old Meadowbrook Country Club property that will be a new 88 acre Johnson County Park.  There is a public meeting today Tuesday the 10th and tomorrow Wednesday the 11th from 4-8:00 pm in the club house at 91st and Nall and the meetings are open to the public.  We will be taking park development suggestions at these meetings".

I just talked to Bill from the Johnson County Parks Department who is a disc golfer and he suggested having disc golfers and residents of JOCO to show up to have input in the direction of this new Park. Lets really show up in strong numbers to get a great disc golf course into the area.

Please pass the word around and could someone post this to the Facebook page! Thanks

General Banter / Down Under Hole 9 Area
« on: March 09, 2015, 10:47:01 am »
I just been asked by the WYCO Parks Department and the KCK Police Department to remove the Fire Pit and the extra benches down there. The Parks Department said okay to one bench per hole. They have been called out to the park and found people hanging out down there after the Park Closed hours. They don't want anyone in the park after hours so we all need to help get the word out to stay out of the park after hours.
We have a great relationship with the Parks so let's help them out by taking care of this for them.
Thank you

This is always a great event to play in!

A great big thanks to all 18 of the disc golfers that volunteered to spend their morning at Rosedale  Park this morning.  All of the goals were met and then some.  The top course has asphalt chips covering the muddy areas.  The down under course has dust on every tee pad and almost every tee pad has a new border on it thanks to the extra effort from everyone.  The new access path will make getting to the trash cans on the front 9 so much easier.
Thank you again for your hard work and dedication to Rosedale Park, you all made a difference today.
