« on: June 03, 2013, 10:40:44 PM »
Just wanted to start acknowledging and Thanking the people that are working at Rosedale to get it ready for the Wide Open. So far John P3 and Paul Salierno have been busy cleaning up the down trees on hole #1 by the basket. They both have also been weed eating this past week. Jay Rivard will be marking the 10 meter circles and the out of bounds after this next mow. I have had several people that cant make it Saturday but will come out this week and weed eat a hole or two.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday.
 Thanks, Pete

Just wanted to say thanks to a few people who helped on the Tee Pads #1 and #14 at Rosedale. This couldn't have been done with out the KCFDC and Dynamic Discs donating the materials for these two projects. Next Dave Zentz has been at the park for every stone that was laid, Thank you Dave! Tee pad #14 helper was Jay Rivard, Peter Engelman and Amber will be planting flowers.
Tee Pad #1 helpers are Jay, Easy, Chris, GI Dave, Hans, Matt Dixon, Heath, James and I know there were a couple of more people and I apologize I cant think of them at this time. The next thing to do is plant some Rose Bushes next to the pad this week to finish off the #1 Tee Pad!

Disc Golf Topics for Women / Monday Womens League
« on: March 29, 2013, 08:44:33 AM »
Just wanted to let all the new players and women know that after talking to Ben and Rhonda and how well the clinics went last year that Dynamic Discs will be presenting more clinics for the Monday leagues. We will start these earlier this year so we wont get into your playing time unless you want to stick around for additional tips.
The first league of the season is Monday April 1 and Laron "Whoman" Harris will be at Rosedale at 5:00pm to start a weekly series of clinics and really go in depth on the strategies of disc golf and how to approach everything from your discs to the shots your about to throw.
For those new players that havent heard of Laron Whoman Harris he is a Professional Disc Golfer that played at the highest level around the Midwest and won many PDGA events. He is also a great teacher of the game and Eric McCabe credits Laron as being his Mentor growing up in the sport.
Also Innova Pro Ken "Tank" Franks will be doing a few clinics also later in the month and I will let you know when that will happen. Ken is another great teacher and his "On Tour" expierence is priceless.

General Banter / Re: Tree's planted at Rosie!!!
« on: December 13, 2012, 06:52:31 PM »
The Trees, 9 of them were purchased by the KCFDC and Dynamic Discs in a 50/50 split. The Unified Government planted them and will water them for us.
Thank you all that played league and joined the club every year. Its your dollars that add up and make a difference at the courses.

I want to thank Dave Feldberg for coming out to Rosedale Park show KC Disc Golfers what a pro does when they drive and putt a disc.  Just to clarify a few things that have come up, the Pros that come through town and have given demos and clinics that Dynamic Discs have been involved with, and this is the 5th this year are payed by Dynamic Discs. This is a cost of doing business for DD and we will continue this practice.
This is a chance for the touring pro to make a difference in one of the 59 golfers on Tuesday night and the 50 golfers on Wednesday night disc golf game if that golfer listens and takes that one thing and practices. And its also revenue for them when traveling around the country playing tournaments.
Dave also gave 9 private one hour lessons with disc golfers that they payed for at Rosedale. This was a success for those people and we are looking to set up more of those in the future if there is more interest. Dont hesitate to ask a tour Pro or a local Pro a question about your game. There are several great teachers here in town.
We at Dynamic Discs are going to bring you more of these Tour Players through town and have more clinics and lessons through the end of the year and all through next year. It all depends on whose coming through town and can stay for a couple of days.
Thanks again everyone that had time to come out on short notice.

Thank you all for attending last nights clinic. Dave has a very simple approach to your footwork and head position and then the sraight line throw which helps in your accuracy. The timing of your legs and hips with the arm, torso and wrist snap for distance. This will eventually help your game if your willing to put in the practice. There are several people in KC that are learning this type of throw and it is working for those who put the time in to improve thier game.
Dave has a video coming out very soon.

Going both nights is encouraged! Practice was he shows you the first night and come back the second night to see how your doing. These guys that have been on the road and working everyday to improve the game they make a living at have a very different outlook on how they go about throwing with accuracy and practicing. Ken "Tank" Franks did it for years and is a great one to pick his brain in town if you get a chance to. They have little things they do that when your taught they seem so simple you should have recognized them yourself, and some people in town already do these things and thats why they are successful!
Hope to see you all out there at least one of the nights!
