The Meeting went well. For those that are going today you just walk in and sit through a small presentation and/ or then walk into the other room and post it note disc golf on the Parks and Rec map and the big map in the middle of the room. For those not able to attend and that are residents of JOCO please contact Parks and Rec and your city councilman and let them know what you think should go there. Thanks again there were several people last night that attended.

"Please encourage KCFDC members and other disc golfers to provide comments regarding their desires to have  a disc golf course at the old Meadowbrook Country Club property that will be a new 88 acre Johnson County Park.  There is a public meeting today Tuesday the 10th and tomorrow Wednesday the 11th from 4-8:00 pm in the club house at 91st and Nall and the meetings are open to the public.  We will be taking park development suggestions at these meetings".

I just talked to Bill from the Johnson County Parks Department who is a disc golfer and he suggested having disc golfers and residents of JOCO to show up to have input in the direction of this new Park. Lets really show up in strong numbers to get a great disc golf course into the area.

Please pass the word around and could someone post this to the Facebook page! Thanks

General Banter / Down Under Hole 9 Area
« on: March 09, 2015, 10:47:01 am »
I just been asked by the WYCO Parks Department and the KCK Police Department to remove the Fire Pit and the extra benches down there. The Parks Department said okay to one bench per hole. They have been called out to the park and found people hanging out down there after the Park Closed hours. They don't want anyone in the park after hours so we all need to help get the word out to stay out of the park after hours.
We have a great relationship with the Parks so let's help them out by taking care of this for them.
Thank you

This is always a great event to play in!

A great big thanks to all 18 of the disc golfers that volunteered to spend their morning at Rosedale  Park this morning.  All of the goals were met and then some.  The top course has asphalt chips covering the muddy areas.  The down under course has dust on every tee pad and almost every tee pad has a new border on it thanks to the extra effort from everyone.  The new access path will make getting to the trash cans on the front 9 so much easier.
Thank you again for your hard work and dedication to Rosedale Park, you all made a difference today.

General Banter / Down Under- Trash Day
« on: January 11, 2015, 01:04:52 pm »
Down Under Trash day today there were 23 bags of trashed hauled up. I wanted to thank Jay Rivard, Mike Thomas and Dan Cashen for spending 2 hours helping me get the trash hauled out from Down Under. I'm working on signage next specifically for Down Under to ask the local disc golf community that play Down Under "If you Pack it in then please Pack it out" so please let it start with us kcfdc members.

We are having a workday at Rosedale Park next Saturday the 17th at 8:30am for anybody that wants to volunteer and show up. We will be spreading asphalt chips around several of the up top Tee Pad Areas between the bench and the Tee and also in front of the Tee's if there is a worn down area. Also Down Under we will be putting dust down on those Tee pads and emptying the trash cans. This will be a 2-3 hour work day some come help for an hour or as long as you can your help is greatly appreciated. Bring Gloves, Rakes for gravel, shovels and we will knock this out fast!
Thanks, Pete

General Banter / Re: Non DG player need winter coat
« on: November 15, 2014, 11:01:22 am »
Just saw this thread and its great to see the KC Disc Golf community step up. My dad started a halfway house 45 years ago for recovering alcoholic's called the Welcome House and the site is and every fall and winter we look for men's jackets and belts for the 70 or so guys that are they at any given time. I'm sure somebody knows a place where women's and children's coats are needed and can be dropped off. So whoever has a coat in the closet that they aren't using, somebody would have it on today.
Ill be at the meeting tonight if anyone wants to bring one and we will get it to someone in need, Thanks
