Because of the rain we don't to run a loader on the course, trying to reschedule for next week. I'll be out there later today cutting in the woods. Lance 816-807-2619.

Caleb mentioned he would not be at league next week, if anyone might be interested. I'd call him to confirm but then he would probably show up. I'll be out at Phill on Saturday morning working on extending the tees, if anyone might be interested. (816) 807-2619 ask for Lance.

Legacy Park - Lee's Summit / The Legacy Lives On
« on: March 07, 2010, 10:20:18 AM »
Baskets were moved on Friday by Parks and Rec. Holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15, and 17(which was moved to 18 short.) It's a whole new lay out!!! Parks dept. layed down grass seed and trimmed more trees. Good job Lees Summit Parks and Rec.  The mistaken placement on 17 is an easy fix and I'm sure with time these things will be non issues.  In the future I hope they will involve Mr. Palmer, he can take care of beesnest. Over all, besides some major design issues, the park is looking up and living on.

I cleared 13 pads today and hope to finish the rest tommorrow. The weather channel has the temp. being 21 by noon, didn't know if anyone was going to make it out. The road coming in from Pleasant Hill (163rd Street) is in descent shape,  but once you get to the park it gets a little dicier.  I made it in and out with my two wheel drive pick-up even though the road entering the park hadn't been plowed. (I'd like to see Coffmans' notch try and make it.) If you do decide to get out of the house and brave the elements, I'll suggest bringing your best snow boots, for the three foot drifts, and an ICE BOWL attitude. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the crisp sound of howling monkeys can still be heard in 20 degree tempretures.

I would like to get some feedback from our disc golf community, especially the veterans, on the type of finish for the pads.  When we did the pads at Legacy they were advised to drag astro-turf across the wet concrete to create a rough surface, at the time I didn't think that was a good idea. Are the pads at Legacy too slick? I would like some honest opinions, I'm sure this won't be a problem.

Thanks to Dan Coffman and John Theiss for coming out and helping it was a very productive day. We drug out 200 ft. of brush without any fatalities. We are currently 3 years ahead of schedule.
