Are you sure you're not thinking of Brodie Smith? Brody Miller appears to be a local pro from Portland. Brodie Smith is the ultimate guy that does all the trick shots.

Good call.  I guess it's still a little early for me to be thinking straight.

Did anyone notice that Brody Miller is tearing it up at worlds?!  An ultimate professional to say the least, he can obviously chuck a disc as well.  Only four back of the lead!

A BIG THANK YOU to those that were in attendance at the meeting last night.  I think we really showed our support with roughly 30 people in attendance.  As you can see, there are a few roadblocks and more than likely some time that has to elapse before this process can begin.  But, if we continue to show our interest and push for this, we can make it happen.  I'll post updates to this thread when they come up, but for now stay tuned.

We will likely be having an "Independence Disc Golf Day" of sorts to show the park board commission, etc. our support and also show them how large of a community we really are.  I need to see what events we have on the calendar, but chances are this will take place sometime in October.  I'll keep you posted!

LAST BUMP!  The meeting is tonight and I encourage as many of you to come as possible to support a disc golf course being installed in Independence.  The meeting is at 6:00 at the Sermon Center.  The address is previously noted in this thread.  Hope to see you there!

BUMP!  This meeting is scheduled for tomorrow night at 6:00.  If possible, please come and show your support for an Independence championship level disc golf course!  If you have any questions, please feel free to post or PM me.  Thanks again!

Trilogy v Roc v Buzz?

The Royals are still in the race and it's August.  Chiefs football can wait four more weeks.  On that note, I agree with Danger, let's shut this thread down.

Shifting gears a little bit.  I know I strongly urged Independence residents in my original post as attendees to this meeting.  However, I'd like to show Indep Parks & Rec just how much support there is for another course in the metro.  If you live on the east side, the west side, the north side or the south side, please consider coming to this meeting and showing your support.  We need to show that the KCFDC is active and willing to take in yet another championship level course and work with the Parks & Rec department to ensure that it thrives.  I'd sure appreciate it!

The Truth about it is, there were a couple of local Truths not present.  ;)

I just didn't want this event thread to be full of complaints and no compliments.  Yes, there were things that went wrong that needed to be addressed; it sounds like they were.  There were also 280+ competitors coupled with a different teeing format, weather issues and course layouts that were foreign to most as you said, Jack.  That being said we all just need to be cognizant of how hard it is to put something like that on.  Good reviews are just as deserved as the bad reviews that I've read and heard so far.  Anyway, I've made my point and pretty much just echoed Jack's post.  Hooray for disc golf in KC!

I understand what a public forum is and how it works.  I am certainly not validating what occurred nor do I disagree with people being upset after hearing what happened.  I just think there are better ways to handle these situations directly.

I think the majority of what is being discussed on here needs to be taken offline.  If you have an issue, discuss it with Dynamic Discs and the tournament director.  What's done is done and is in the past.  I'm sure there are appeals processes with the PDGA that can take place here if needed.  I believe the other items discussed have also been handled at this point by DD.  It is becoming a rant and we need to move on.

Thanks for putting on another event in KC.  While hiccups happen, just know that we as a whole appreciate an organization putting on competitive events for us to compete in, amateur and professional alike.
