L5 is a tough one for certain.  The maintenance of it was always a subject that until it connects with the field opening across the west would be tough.

I love the energy and ideas you got flowing through!

Is the pin still there, Jack?  After seeing the work that has been done on the rest of the course, I would doubt that cleaning up L5 for the Wide Open would be all that tough considering the work that's been done on 11 (LOOKS FANTASTIC DOWN THERE).  If the pin placement is still there and it is an accessible pin for one weekend, I don't see why we couldn't clean it up even if it is the only weekend that the placement is used all year.  In the three years I've been playing disc golf in KC I've always wondered about that long placement.  Granted, I like having short 5 as a deuce opportunity more often than not.  But, why not stretch it for the weekend that the big boys are here?  90% of them will deuce that short placement and it becomes somewhat of a dull hole for them as it is just an easy hyzer.  I haven't been able to attend the work days thus far out there, but if the pin is still there and I get the go ahead, I'm sure I can round up some east siders with weed eaters to clean the area for the Wide Open.

Will #5 long right ever be in play again?  I've heard tell of a pin over there and see the trees to walk across, but haven't ever seen the pin over there.

I would even take that bet, Joe.  It all depends on the wind like I said earlier and 15-25+ out of the south tomorrow won't allow for any 3's.  I think it is still a par 4 on a regular day though.  Hole 3 is a par 5 in my mind moreso than hole 1.  And 14 is a par 3 any day of the week as it is a birdie opportunity more often than not when the wind allows you to take the anhyzer route and you throw a good drive.

I feel like hole 1 is a par 5

Jose 3'd it last night for a recent reference and I've 3'd it a couple of times.  All depends on the wind I suppose.

The scores from our card were as follows (not sure on the other card, but Matt will post them in due time) :

Jordan - 57 $12
Jose - 61 $9
Derek - 69
Dennis - 70

Shot of the night was probably Derek's throw in from 100+ on hole 8 to save par.  We all had our fair share of mediocre shots, but any night of golf is better than a night without it.  Adios muchachos.

Will anyone be putting bags over the holes that have two pins?  I know there are several at Blue Valley and a few at Cliff as well.  I know you will be making the announcement very clearly before the tournament that we're playing long pins, but some people from out of town won't know any better.  I know that we had someone throw to 11 short on our card the other night at Cliff...

What time is tee at BV on Saturday?  I see check-in from 7-7:45.

Also, there are two chains missing on the street side of 12's basket.  I know that Jack told Jose it probably won't be fixed between now and tourney time, but surely we have two sets of chains laying around somewhere that could be used.  Agree with Jose in that we have a couple of touring pros playing and would like our course to at least have the standard as far as baskets having a full set of chains...let me know how I can help and I'll install them if need be.

Quick shout out to a guy named Dennis who played league at Cliff tonight. The guy had a golf cart fall on his femur three years ago resulting in a compound fracture in three different places. Many surgeries and a few titanium rods later, he is out on the course doing his best on one leg. With the help of one crutch, he threw a 70, +12 tonight. From a stand still, he was able to shoot well on a beast of a course with pretty hefty winds tonight. Well done Dennis and thanks for stopping in KC! You've got an amazing course out in Santa Cruz to call your home but we hope you enjoyed the courses in our home while you were here.

The only thing I'm worried about is tearing up the course the week of a tournament for a few dollars.

We will tread lightly.

We will have fun doing it to! You're buying us all dinner, right Jordan?

Ha what is that supposed to mean?!  That $9 from last week didn't last me very long and surely isn't going to buy dinner!!
