Any thoughts on the new discs?

The putter was called a shield - very overstable.  I think it would be a great driving putter, but a bit too beefy for me to putt with.  The midrange was called a claymore - moderately understable.  I felt that this disc really held the turnover line and did not have any fade.  The fairway driver was a thief - very understable.  This disc most reminded me of a leopard with a little more glide.  I think that all of the discs serve their purpose, although I will admit it was tough to play a full 18 holes with just those three discs.  I had a hard time getting the midrange or the fairway to fly straight (even with a hyzer release) simply because I tend to throw hard and don't lay off much unless I am throwing approach shots.  Just my .02.

nice shootin jordan

Thank you, sir.  Scott is being humble, but he too also shot a 49 (along with one other person who I can't remember their name).  I just happened to throw a little bit better upshot to #2's pin from the deck at the clubhouse.  Great little Sunday afternoon event, thanks to DD for running it and to Lat64, DD and Westside for putting it on!

Friday night doubles at Legacy are always a fun time as well, however, the prices recently went up to $7 making it one of the more expensive leagues.

That extra dollar sure is expensive...  heaven forbid we pay $43 dollars less than a normal round of ball golf instead of $44.

Got hole 1 at Stocksdale tonight. Not sure on the distance, but threw a DD verdict. First throw, first hole. Bowen, Perry and my brother as witnesses.  Course is looking good, can't wait until it's fully complete!!

Nice!  Christening the course already.  Go spray paint the bright blue band - Jordan Hinck, 1st Ace....Jk Don't do that.

Oh I had already written it in white sharpie to make sure everyone could see it.  Wait, is that a no no or something?!?!  ;D

I was unable to make this last workday due to prior commitments, but I was there for the one before that and no one showed up.  As I said before, it doesn't need to be a year long position.  It doesn't need to be in the mowing contract.  All we need is a pin placement back there (it may still be there and we just can't see it?) and I'll personally do all the mowing back there in preparation for the wide open (or any other tournament for which that pin is requested).  I know it's a pain in the rear to get back there with commercial equipment.  Hole 5 has just become sort of a dull hole that nearly every pro is going to birdie in its current placement.  I think the long placement would be a much harder shot for righty and lefty alike.

Is Old Settler's happening?  It's not on the PDGA website.

Waiting for a former TD to chime in.  Eh hem, Jack?  Scott?  Rick?  Obviously this can happen and if it happened to me in a tournament I would sure as heck appeal if it's not clearly defined.  I would play it both ways for sure.  I haven't paid attention to the layout for the MAC, but this might want to be cleared up before then!!

This was partially brought up on the Midwest Amateur Championships discussion, but I didn't want to thread drift.  Whilst playing the July 4th superclass round, an approach was made to hole 17's long right basket down by the road.  The shot went long and over the street/parking lot pavement and landed in the dirt/grassy area that is part of hole 12 (we call it the peninsula placement for 12).  While this is typically played as out of bounds in leagues and such, the comment was made that technically there is not a defined OB line to make that out of bounds.  Theoretically the line extends from the basket north towards #13's fairway, turns right at the end of the pavement, hangs another right and then comes back towards the basket.  I do not believe that there is a line extending to those backyards over there for OB; the line follows the pavement per the last sentence.  We know that hole 9's fairway is certainly OB, but what about across the street on the backside of hole 12's peninsula green?  Tis the question:  WAS TANK OB OR NOT?!?!?!

Man no shout out for five birds in a row from 9-13?  ??? Haha I had a great time despite a rocky start.  I LOVE the course being maxed out like that, but realize it can't stay that way for long.  Wish I could've stuck around to congratulate Loomis, I figured a 7 or 8 would be a REALLY hot round an 47 is about as good as it gets out there on that setup.  Thanks for running it Rob!

KC is free to play except for Old Pike up in the Northland which is $5 per day daily fee.  I'm not sure what kind of courses you are looking to play, but we have quite the selection.  If you're looking to stay close to the city-center, then WaterWorks is a must play in addition to Cliff Drive (best courses in town in my opinion).  If you're on the Kansas side of things, head out to Olathe and play Lakeside and Prairie Center (also Wyandotte County Park is in Bonner Springs if you want to stretch out your arm a bit).  If you're looking on the east side, give Wilbur Young Park and Legacy Park a shot (Blue Valley as well if you REALLY want to stretch out your arm).  If you don't want to drive between courses and have time to make it up to Smithville, play the three courses up there that wrap around Smithville Lake.  They are AMAZING courses and will certainly live up the expectations you have for Kansas City Disc Golf.  Enjoy!
