General Banter / Re: E's Birthday Round

Great time this morning. It was a bit chipper, but believe we all had a pretty good time. First time playing safari for me at swope and loved it. Not too often that that course is open enough to do such a thing! Happy birthday again Eric!

:o :o :o  Eric that is GREAT NEWS! Thanks for all you do out there at Legacy and our courses on the East Side.  Your committment to bettering the sport and our courses in Kansas City is impeccable.   No wonder your game is going through the roof and you're moping the floor with the rest of us, KARMA!

I don't think that Eric is moping, dude.  Now mopping the floor with you, maybe... ;)

Always the comedian BP.  Always the comedian... ;)

General Banter / Re: Cave Golf

I'm almost positive they could charge a fee to play.  I'm pretty sure they charge a fee in St. Louis.  I've heard they even have a concession stand at the entrance so you can purchase beverages, snacks, etc.  I know it has been a topic of discussion lately as far as pay to play courses are concerned.  But I really do think that if you build it, they will come.  Cave golf is so unique that I'm almost positive people would come ready to pay and play.  How has it fared in STL?  Jamie seems to keep track of STL golf quite a bit, can you comment?

Out of curiosity, how come we haven't ever explored the option of a cave course in Kansas City like the Crystal City course in STL?  Surely there is more cave space in KCMO than there is in STL (although I admittedly don't know for sure).  Do we know what it cost or took STL to get that under way?  Does anyone know if we have any similar options or places available here that we could explore that?  KC Disc Golf seems to taper off in the winter months with the exception of a few glow leagues and two weekend leagues.  Clearly the sun plays a major role in that, but a cave course would give us more options.

Thoughts?  Discussion? Go!

When you play safari or jungle holes its not the actual course... I know wilbur is a little hairy but not a rainforest. Youngle is a sweet nickname, thanks...but ive even asked pate to not use it unless playing safari holes. I appreciate your cooperation in this matter
the fact that you are asking an entire city full of people to not call a course a nickname is hilarious. good luck with that one man.

I'll oblige Matt.

ps I am playing the 2014 kcfdc tag only

I know this is highly debated, but I still don't understand playing the 2014 tag in 2013.  I understand that it is after the club championships which in a way is the end of the KCFDC calendar year, but I just don't get it.  Not trying to jack the thread, just planned to bring my 2013 tag if I was playing since I don't have a 2014 tag yet.

General Banter / Re: Washer/Dryer wanted - Lawnmowers for sale
« on: November 22, 2013, 10:26:41 am »
If you don't get any bites on here I wanted to point you in the direction that I went. The Sears Outlet store off of front street sells high quality washers and dryers for a HUGE discount because of scratches/dents/floor models. I picked up a $900 dryer for under $200 because it was a bright red color and didn't have a matching washer to go with it. May not be what you are looking for but I at least wanted to throw it out there.  :P

I've been there and planned to give it a shot if all else fails.  I'm hoping to get both a washer and dryer for under $200 if I can score it somehow.  If not, I'll start trying other options like the one you mentioned.  Thanks!

General Banter / Washer/Dryer wanted - Lawnmowers for sale
« on: November 22, 2013, 10:09:10 am »
If anyone has a washer/dryer set they're looking to get rid of, please PM me.  Wife and I bought a house and sellers aren't leaving their current set.  Not looking to spend a whole lot if possible.

Also, have three lawnmowers for sale.  Mowing months are pretty well over, but spring will be here before know it.  Willing to trade one of the mowers too if that would help on the price of the washer/dryer.  Pics of the mowers available if truly interested.

there's a reason Legacy isn't utilized... its TERRIBLE!!!

Sorry Hinkles, tweener and BORING golf isn't fun!

I love Fled's idea of using more of the new courses... Lake Perry needs a sanctioned event for sure...

Tweener this and Tweener that.  Every hole there has deuce opportunity, maybe not for those who are faint of heart and weak in arm.

I believe you're referencing the low pin by the road - I've deuced that one before with no wind.  It's not nearly as tough as deucing the one at the top of the hill by the reservoir...

sorry, i didnt realize the orange pin is still in and/or is ever used.  every time i put the basket there, all i heard was cries.  nice 2, and yes, a much harder deuce, .  its the same distance horizontally, but much farther up, and the tee pad doesnt line up correctly for a big drive to that pin.  only person i've seen get to that one is big jerm.  pin high, 35 ft left.

That's funny because Tank said the same thing when we stepped off of that pad.  It doesn't line up at all, but with the wind that we had yesterday, it didn't really matter.  The disc was going to travel farther than normal up that hill.  I can't believe he was pin high - that's crazy!  I was more than content being 60-80 short.
