Blue Valley / Re: League 6-16

I was trying to think of a "shot of the night" but I don't think we really had any to be quite honest.  We very nearly had a full card of 3's on hole 4 but one putt came in just a little low.  Jose was sitting about 20' for the 3 on hole 6, but decided to lay up given the wind and tourney mentality we were trying to play with.  Jordan and Jay both birdied hole 16 from about 8' each.  Other than that it was a pretty mediocre round for all of us.  Can't wait for Saturday morning!

Four of us went ahead and just played a practice round instead of league once we saw that the second card was just putting on hole one when we were teeing off on 7.  I for one wanted to get home and finish watching the butt-kicking the Royals gave the Tigers last night (until Donnie Joseph came in and watered down the score)...  In any event, the wind was pretty hefty last night.  Par 66 layout per the caddy book, with scores as follows:

Jordan Hinck- 66
Jose Ossa - 67
Matt Perry - 68?
Jay Cram - 70?

I'd like to think I did something pretty cool lol. Now let's see if I can get the check before November

Nice job Matt , I'll make sure I turn in everything by end of the year.

Haha, why don't you make him wait a little Kelly.  January 2015 is probably sufficient.

I threw an absolute fantastic shot that was parked on other pin and was out of bounds.  I thought as long as I throw a straight shot I will be fine.  Guess not.   Stupid artificial ob.  Makes courses look gimmiky when it's unnecesary.  Wyco is a fantastic course and plenty difficult without it.

I'll be there about 5:30, but also have no idea who's running the league... JACK?!

See you there CD!  If there are only going to be a handful of people then running an actual league isn't necessary.  I think all of us are just trying to get some practice in for next weekend...

The league will happen. I think Matt runs the league at Cliff on Mondays - so I assume he will run it at BV tonight.

He text me and said that he will not be running it, that's why I was asking.  There will probably be a few of us there at 5:00 to go ahead and tee off.

Ha well I am more than happy to fix it if someone gives me a chain - I'd go buy one but don't know the specifications.  I plan to play the course tonight.  If you've got spare chain at the shop I can grab one on lunch and gladly do it.

Hole 4 at BV is still missing an entire chain.

I wanted to point this out that I made this comment on April 18th of last year (2013) and the chain is STILL missing on this hole.  I've let Doug and Dick both know about it, so hoping it is fixed before the tournament.  Nothing like throwing a good upshot on this hole that ends up behind the basket and staring at nothing but the pole; no chain.

I'm not sure if this league has even been happening this year, but I do plan to be out there around 5:00.  If league doesn't happen but someone(s) want to join me, just post here or text me and we'll get a round in.

Hope John doesn't mind that I chime in here.  The yellow baskets are actually the "gold" placements.  Normal holes will play to blue pins, but for those that want to stretch the course out a bit, the gold basket may be used.  There will be 8 gold baskets total on the course, and one of them will be used for two separate holes.  This makes for 9 total holes that will have a "gold" placements available.  If I remember correctly, the holes with "gold" placements are as follows:  3, 5, 6, 8 (same as #3), 10, 12, 16 & 18.  My favorite hole with the gold placement will be hole #5.  It's a crush turnover shot followed by another 300+ feet to the basket from the landing area - AWESOME.  Can't wait for this course to be done.  And if I know John, the poison ivy will be taken care of in due time.  The course isn't complete and manicured yet, just needs some time and TLC.
