Liberty, MO - Stocksdale Park / Re: Liberty, MO.

Hope John doesn't mind that I chime in here.  The yellow baskets are actually the "gold" placements.  Normal holes will play to blue pins, but for those that want to stretch the course out a bit, the gold basket may be used.  There will be 8 gold baskets total on the course, and one of them will be used for two separate holes.  This makes for 9 total holes that will have a "gold" placements available.  If I remember correctly, the holes with "gold" placements are as follows:  3, 5, 6, 8 (same as #3), 10, 12, 16 & 18.  My favorite hole with the gold placement will be hole #5.  It's a crush turnover shot followed by another 300+ feet to the basket from the landing area - AWESOME.  Can't wait for this course to be done.  And if I know John, the poison ivy will be taken care of in due time.  The course isn't complete and manicured yet, just needs some time and TLC.

You may want to paint 10 meter lines around the baskets  ::)

I'll likely be there early to get a round of out the way and then do the workday.  I can pick up trash on the course as I go and get a feel for what holes need most work as far as weedeating is concerned.  I'll also bring a few handsaws for the low hanging branches.

What time are we looking at for Saturday?  Weather looks like it should cooperate.  I'd like to get a round in either before or after the workday so trying to plan ahead.  What is the rundown of what's left to do?  Just the items you mentioned in the last post?

Maaaaaan, I really hope I can play this thing next year.  Hate not being able to help out the east side!  Don't worry fellas, we'll prevent that three-peat and even this thing up next year.

General Banter / Random Thought - Thornfield
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:36:58 AM »
I know that Thornfield is not exactly in the center of Kansas City and I also know that it is a private course.  However, it's also one of the best courses we have in town.  Has there ever been a PDGA event there or is that off limits?  Seems to me that someone should run a tournament out that direction and include PC, Birdland and Thornfield for a killer three round tournament.  Just a random thought for the day...

Tomorrow is going to be a wet one!  I am in a wedding tomorrow, but will do my best to come out and work next Saturday.  I presume Blue Valley will need more volunteers than Swope.  After playing Swope on Tuesday, I can tell that it is already in magnificent shape and I heard it has had a fresh mow.  I'm hopeful that all courses being used in the Wide Open will have had a fresh mow prior to Wide Open.

What will be done next Saturday at Blue Valley.  I've got a pretty good trimmer that I can bring along, but want to make sure I bring what is needed.  Please provide the rundown on what yet needs to be done.  Thanks!

Jordan with the only two on #4 long I've ever seen. Dead center from about 225ish.

Occasionally the blind squirrel finds the nut I suppose.  DD Fugitive dead center from the first tree on the left of the fairway along the street.

Swope / Re: 2014 Swope pin settings
« on: June 04, 2014, 10:28:10 AM »
Well the wind didn't help with the length at Swope right now, but it's always fun to play longer layouts.  All but two holes were maxed out per Timko's examination so it was a long, but fun evening.  Low round on the night was 55.
