Lion's den Prep on Saturday.  Why they moved it to July/August is beyond me, the third weekend of September was generally a great time, but they lost it because they didn't keep the tradition running....

Posting information about the needs at Cliff for the Lion's Den (August 6th).  I hope to be out there this and next weekend to work on the following:

Get trash out and cans cut to have in place

#1-Mow around the basket and the hillside to the south of the basket.  Clear out any trash on the hillside, clean up a little off the pad
#2-mow Fairway
#3-Clean around the top shelf area of the basket and expose cliff.  Cut honeysuckle and weeds on the right hillside
#4-Clean weeds/overgrowth in front of pad.  remove downed tree pieces to side of fairway.  Mow and weedeat the entire area
#5-Mow the hillside and the top layer
#6-Mow fairway and weedeat--ignore long placement for now
#7-#8--clear out the back hole placement and weeds along the hillside.  Exposing as we always do the rock walls all the way down the fairway.  Weedeat everywhere and expose a little more on the long #8
#9-celar out more of the view to the lexington bridge, clean off all the IVY on the big tree by #10 pad
#10-Clear out tree that is over the pad.  Clean up long placement area

That should do it for now.  If you want to help let me know.  9143-485-5123

Got some stuff done this past weekend.  Could really use help in the form of chainsaws and weedeaters this weekend.  Will be out there probably Saturday from 9-3 and Sunday from 9-3.  Would love to see you.  You know who you are!

Madison and Wisconsin disc golf in general is a wonderful trip for anyone.  Going to Disc Golf Camp for your vacation is always a good time!

I probably want the mini baskets and if that $8 is real I want that as well.  If it's $80 (which I bet it is....) someone else can have it.

Everything should be in the longest setting right now, it will probably stay that way until the week before the Lion's Den.

They were just ideas Jack. Geez. Take it easy. I'll shut up from now on on ideas.

I am not telling ya to shut up, just throwing it out there as to what we are looking at and the scope of it all.

I am uncertain if you remember the loss of 104 trees out there and the course is a barren waste of its former self.

So instead of working towards something to attempt to "salvage" we want to look towards something to grow and enhance and improve.  Change is tough so I am simply trying to give you an idea of the notions that we are currently discussing so you can OPEN up a little and think about possibilities beyond the current.  Swope is HUGE, and this is a GOLD MINE of a chance to make/take a dip in a new area to truly bring in a great course in one of the country's largest urban parks.  I believe that P&R wants to ensure that we have that, and that is why looking beyond the course makes sense.

More of an FYI to you Doug (and others) to give you an idea of the change.  AS I am sure that you aren't the only one thinking about this as well.
