We all mourn the loss of many in the events of the weather in Oklahoma City yesterday, and our hearts felt for those that were lost in the horrible tragedy.
We did though play on in our efforts to make the time on our wonderful planet better by competing in the likes of weather that surrounded us, yet stayed far away. The competition was a fierce one for everyone but the "Tank" that drove through all of the challenges with the exception of a lone 5 on #6.
Yes, I do realize that Detroit got another victory, and I am just as angry about that as I was my own play yesterday on the course. Speaking of on the course, Beckett Carduff took all sorts of work on the new holes that are being worked and not only was a machine all day long in regards to helping that but also then played league, and after a rough couple of holes start, finished out with a pretty darn solid round.
Next week we will not be having league at Cliff Drive, and then the following week we will be playing the East Championship Round 2 setup for the final at Cliff during Series 1 of the PDGA League, with the finals the following week (June 10) at Blue Valley. Based on the feedback so far this year, I am going to be running Series 2 of the PDGA league as well so it will continue to be a PDGA league throughout the Summer, and then I will evaluate if we want to go through the remainder of the year. My initial thought though is that we will probably only go another series of PDGA league, as that will take us through the Lion's Den and then leave us with a few weeks in September. We may alter the dates a little, or plan on ending the August 26th of the PDGA and then September will be only KCFDC league.
Enough of the blathering on though, I am sure that you are all excited to see how things finished out on the course, right? Well to put it nicely, the hottest round of the year was done out there last night, and it took the highest rated player to be out at league to have the highest rated round to date. Mr. PDGA Rating 999 helped his cause to return to the land of 1000 rated with a spectacular 1033 rated round. That was with a 5 on #6, did I mention that? I think I did, because I took the same, only my rated round was about 100 points below that.....
With a total of 17 players out, we had 11 in open, as the Masters field opted into the big boys playing arena and we had 6 out for the advanced field. Here are your totals:
