General Banter / Course updates
« on: December 30, 2008, 09:10:45 AM »
With the adverse weather that happened last weekend, please post in the appropriate course section items that you feel need attention to let the CC's know.

The weather as nice as it is, I am sure that some of you are out playing disc golf instead of typing about it in a chat room, so help those of us that can't get out to make us aware of what needs to be done.

Thanks,

Jack

Cliff Drive / Work Day 1-2-09
« on: December 29, 2008, 02:41:07 PM »
work day 1-2-09

Will be working on the following on Friday:
Hole #1 clearing up the teeing area, and woods.  Cleaning long #10 fairway more accessible to mowers
Creating a new alternate placement are to W of #2 pad which leads into
Hole #2, clearing it out so that we can extend #1 and create practice area in the field as well as develop a slope to allow mowers into the fairway on #2 to get down there and aleviate the work that we need to do.
Hole #7 creating the longer placement and cleaning out the area up to the road, there will be a window from the road if you choose to not go in through the current route.  Think about 100' deeper in the woods, that will be the new placement.  The window will be from the rocks, but if you go to far there you will be OB, and the drop zone will take you through the existing area, so you will be required to think long and hard about it.  (Those of you that can throw a lot farther than me.)

That should be plenty for the day.

I will be getting the supllies from the P&R to start to work on forming pads, that shuold happen either right before the ice bowl, or right afterwards.

Things are moving, lets get it started!

Ok,

so all of you people on here that played in the KCCC for disc golf I am looking for some help.  I would ask that you PM me some information about who was in charge of the KCCC for your company.  Here is why.

I have put together a little note and presentation for the folks to send about Disc golf and the Worlds for all 144 companies that played in it this year.  Obviously we can call each company and get some information ,but if you can send me the information on who to call for it would be great.  By the same token if you would like to be the person that gets this ball rolling with your company, that would be better as well.

I think that the personal relationships within your organization is a better way to see success in this, than us sending a letter and asking.  By having your involvement it makes it easier for you to be the leader of the cause on this.

Please either PM me or e-mail me if you want to help.  If we can get even 10% of the KCCC businesses to buy tee-signs, that would be close to $5,000 for the worlds.  If we can get 20% to buy a business card ad that would be ~$3,000, hitting both of those numbers would be a great way for us to ensure an even better event than we are already working on.

Any help that you can do would be great.

Thanks,

Jack

Car submerged in KC lake
Kansas City firefighters are trying to determine whether anyone is inside a car submerged in a pond at Blue Valley Park.

Dispatchers sent emergency crews to the site at 24th and Topping streets about 10:05 a.m. They reported that the top of the car was about a foot below the surface, and the car may have gone into the pond during the night.

Club Archives / Worlds Meeting 12-2 @ 7pm @ River Market
« on: December 01, 2008, 12:16:42 PM »
As stated at the Club Meeting, we will be meeting at the River Market for the last Worlds meeting of the year.

This is basically to look at new art, start to finalize projects, and work on new ideas to reach out to others that want to help.

After this meeting, all Executive meetings and the Worlds Meetings will be together on the same night.  So our next meeting is slated for 1/6 I believe at TMS, after the EC meeting.

Cliff Drive / League-Last Night September 29th
« on: September 24, 2008, 09:38:44 AM »
The last Legaue night for Cliff Drive will be Monday September 29th.  With daylight vanishing, and my work schedule there is no way to make it work in October.  I will run the last league of the year for Cliff Drive this upcoming Monday, and then would encourage you all to head to Olathe for your Monday night fix.

In thinking of this, I will be working on Monday's to get the course in better shape for the Club Championships, so if you are bored and still want to come out on Mondays to Cliff Drive, I will gladly take volunteer help, we will finish ~7:30 on the 6th and by tyhen we shuold start to see plans for the pads to come in soon.

If someone wants to step up and run the league and can get things running by 5:00, by all means, contact me and we will extend it.

Thanks,

Jack

« on: September 03, 2008, 09:04:31 AM »
$102.00 in total....$6 per week...$5 goes to the weekly prize, and $1 goes
to the overall prize.

I would prefer to get the entire season paid up front, as it makes my life
easier.
