General Banter / KC Disc Golfer's Basketball Pool
« on: March 12, 2007, 03:13:20 PM »
http://kcfdc.mayhem.sportsline.com
Password is discgolf
Entries are $10, based on the # of players will determine payout:
20-30 entries= 70%, 20%, 10%
31-40 entries=65%, 20%, 10%, 5%
41-59 entries=60%, 18%, 9%, 7%, 6%
60-70=six spots paid,
70-80=7 spots paid
etc.....

Basically paying out the top 10% in some sort of fashion that would make sense, with the winner getting the lions share for SURE!  Each game correctly picked is worth points.  The person with the most points at the end wins.  Please pass along this information to all that you know.  I was trying to mess with the site today, but was having some issues mailing from the site.  It looks to be live and ready though.  If you are paying for someone that I do not know, please let me know.  Send $10 for each entry to my paypal account, jlowekc@att.net.  All picks need to be in by start of games Thursday.  All payments must be made by start of games on Saturday, or notify me that you have funds, etc... and how you will be paying for this.  Last year I think that we had 23 entries, this year lets double it.  If you got it twice, its because you are on Topica, and I want to encourage all to play.  (sent out to the topica list)

Otherwise have fun, and remember this is coming from an area of the country with the #1 seed, KU.......last year seem to have a bias for the KU fans........now you Chicago folks, IL..#12 seed this year....Hmmmmmmmm......Who will win?

It could be you!!

As a point of courtesy, you should either split the ace fund with your partner or go at least 75/25 with them, especially at this course.

Of course you can also just say its all mine, I don't need no stinking partner......Selfish?

Cliff Drive / Tee pads coming-Need help March 24th
« on: March 12, 2007, 12:49:47 PM »
Hey there everyone.  I am in need of your help.  We are going to be getting 200 railroad ties to be used at our courses from KC Southern Railroad.  We need to have 8 trucks that will be able to tow about 2000 lb's as I would like to have each truck carry about 25 ties on a trailer that we are working on for distribution to the courses that need it.  As of now, probably 75-100 are coming to Cliff Drive, 50 to Shawnee Mission, and the remainder TBD, but likely Rosedale and WW.

What I am looking for is volunteers with trucks, and then if you can find a helper, even better.  The theory that I have is that by having 8 trucks, and each truck with 2 people, we only have to move 25 ties a team.  Cliff Drive will have many of them put near the exit from the Down under section to create new stairs similar to what is there to go down.

Speaking of Cliff Drive, we will be getting earth moved in over the next few weeks to start to work on developing teeing areas.  Look for more changes as we continue to work on Cliff Drive.  There is a new Tee of TERROR on #3, that is just north of long placement #2, if you tee from there and go OB, you go down to the existing teeing area as a drop zone.

Please be sure to head out to leagues this week and have some fun with the extra weeks of disc'n.  Look for a meeting to be scheduled soon for the general membership as with the time change, the winter snuck right up on me, and I forgot to schedule one.  We should have it in April.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a note!!

Thanks,

Jack

Tournaments / KC Ice Bowl-Sunday and Chili contest
« on: January 25, 2007, 09:54:55 AM »
If you did not konw the ice bowl was Sunday, then look at the front page!!  Who is stepping up?

I wanna know who is brining in some tasty Chili this year for the "ICE BOWL"?  With the temperatures in the low double digits expected, the Chili needs to be hot.  We will try to get a generator out there again, but those of you with your gas powered heat, come on out.  Last year we had I think 24 types of chili, this year lets do the same.

Chime in with what kind of chili you are bringning, or if it is a secret, that you are bringing in chili.

Lets get it started!!
