I am sure that it was all based on the "ratings locally" so if you had no rating, you sorta got hosed, but if you had a rating, then I am sure that they put you in the right place.

The flyers right above your post have the information for the event on it, was there some type of information in particular that you needed that was not listed?

That is called a DROT (Disc at Rest On Top of basket) and unfortunately does not count.  Now if you were able to stick one in the side of the basket, and retrieve it before it falls, then that counts, but on top of the basket does not count.

SUX, sorry 4 ya.

Well a round was played by 6 of us on a slightly less windy day than the league on Friday, but still plenty-o-wind to make it slightly scary.

Remember our Saturday League rotates to the first Saturday of the month, to Blue Valley.  All other weeks it is at Cliff Drive.  I IMAGINE that there will not be a league during the Wide Open, so that league may get pushed to the 2nd week of June (June 14), please watch here for more information.

We started to do some single skins again, and then Morales showed up to make 6, and decided on Doubles-skins $.25/hole (man that is CHEAP!)

Teams were made:
Kevin Hart got stuck with Jack Lowe
Bryan Guthrie grabbed Mike Penney
Tracy Walker got stuck with the late arrival of Mark Morales

Kevin and Jack took home the most skins with 8, and shot a solid 60 on the course.

Tracy and Mark (who decided not to be shut out this week) shot a 64, but more importantly Tracy on 18 talking about what todo with the skins on 18 if there was a tie, proceeded to can a nice 40' to make the point moot and send us all home, they were able to take 5 skins home on this wonderful Saturday.

Bryan and Penney also took home 5 skins, and shot a 65 on the day, as Penney helped on #6 by PARKING the disc and helping the team get on the board early.

Afterward, just for FUN, jack and Kevin went to Cliff Drive, (didn't want to feel like we neglected it on Saturday) and though through the first 10 holes we were tied, the final 8 Jack blew up and shot a 63, and Kevin shot a 56......to take home $5 from Jack which was more than the skins at Blue Valley, as the winning team each received $1.50, but had to pay $2.50 to the club and ace fund for the day, so it cost the winners $1 to play Blue Valley, and the losers each had to pay $3.25 for the fun of Blue Valley.

Tags by Kevin and Jack were kept tight, though, and since no ace fund was hit, the ace fund will go up.

I am not running league, but my guess is that there will be no league until May 24.

Next Saturday is Mighty MO

Please distribute to whomever you think might be interested:

In anticipation of the beginning of an exciting new program, CAR FREE
WEEKENDS ON CLIFF DRIVE, the Cliff Drive Corridor Management Committee will
be hosting a Cliff Drive Clean Up on Saturday, May 10th, 2008 from 9:00 am
– 11:00 am.  We will supply trash bags and water for all volunteers but
personal items like hand gloves and rakes are also recommended.  Anyone
interested in joining the effort is asked to meet at the Cliff Drive gates
just west of the Kansas City Museum at 9:00 am.  Volunteers will then
spread out along the Drive and pick up as much trash as possible, leaving
the bags along the Drive to be picked up by KC Parks and Recreation crews
on Monday, May 12th.  Tires can also be left roadside for later pick up and
removal.  If you have any questions about the Cliff Drive Clean Up, please
contact Cheryl Bisbee at 816-483-9242.  A map to the area (along with other
information about Cliff Drive) can be found at www.cliffdrive.org.

The Kick-Off Closing Ceremony for Car Free Weekends on Cliff Drive is
Friday, May 16th at 2:00 pm.  The gates will be closed each weekend from
May 16th to October 27th and Cliff Drive will be exclusively reserved for
non-motorized activities.  The gates will close at 2:00 pm every Friday and
will reopen at 8:00 am every Monday.

The Cliff Drive Corridor Management Committee was first organized in 1999
to assist the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department in achieving
State Scenic Byway designation for Cliff Drive.  The Committee is comprised
of citizen volunteers who have an interest in Cliff Drive and want to see
it protected and maintained.  The Committee meets monthly with members of
the Parks Department to develop strategies to enhance the byway’s intrinsic
qualities and to identify future needs for maintenance and preservation of
the byway.  Anyone interested in attending the Committee meetings, or
possibly joining the Committee, please contact Cheryl Bisbee at
816-483-9242 for more information.  The Cliff Drive Scenic Byway is a
beautiful, but challenging, recreational area nestled in a vibrant and
diverse urban community.  Cliff Drive is a work in progress and anyone
interested in participating in its constant care is welcome to get
involved!

No it will not.  I have been informed that we will be having a Live radio remote at Work on May 10, so will not be able to attend the Mighty MO, and John Chapman has graciously accepted the role of stepping in.  I will try to come out and work with him at the end of the day as I will be done by 4.

If we can get people to clean up at the Park, we can leave the trash up around the area, and I will work on getting the city to come by and pick it up.  I may go work on the course on saturday after Blue Valley League.

I plan on helping for some time on Sunday at Swope, but would love to have help Saturday at Cliff you can.

Thanks,

Jack

Dear Indian Mound member or friend:

Once again, city trash trucks will converge on the Concourse Park to haul away all the tires and other rubbish that we can throw at them. This year the annual event will take place between 8 a.m. and noon on Saturday, May 10.

Here's what you can get rid of:

-- Old tires
--Leaves and brush
--Electronic equipment, with the exception of computer monitors or television sets
--Appliances like stoves and refrigerators, with the exception of microwave ovens
--Metal of all kinds.

Here's what will NOT be accepted:

--Glass
--Chemicals such as paint, old gas, etc.
--Bulky furniture such as sofas.

Proceeds from recycled items will benefit Old Northeast, Inc.

B. Louise Penny of Old Northeast is looking for volunteers to help her and other ONE staffers clean up streets and alleys during the week leading to the big Saturday drop-off at the Concourse. St. John and Benton. They will bag trash and set it on the curb rather than haul it to the Concourse. If you would like to help, call ONE at 816. 231.3707.
