You will want to call the North Patrol (police Dept 816-437-6200 ) at Water Works and let them know about playing there, or risk getting a ticket for being in there after dark as well.

WyCo would have a similar policy to Rosedale, as they are the same department.......

Of course we parked on 38th(I think) then walked to start on #16 when we play ROsedale late night........

She will love to have attention again.  I think that is why the hose quit filling her with water for the protest....

Water Works / 2 Work days planned 9/27 & 10/4
« on: August 06, 2008, 11:12:42 am »
The nieghborhoods around Water Works are planning a workday on the 4th of October.  We want to help.  In order to help them, we should have our own workday the previous weekend to have them help with the cleanup of the debris that we create.  Some of what I personally think needs to be done is as follows:
1-clear out the honeysuckle by the sign in area, chop it all off, maybe replace with actual shrubbery.  Prune the trees around the teeing area.
2-clear out the Honeysuckle around the pad to the right, and clean up the teeing area in general.
3-CLEAR OUT THE AREA TO THE LEFT, it is over grown, and needs to be cleaned deep.  This will allow those errant shots on the way down to be more visible.
5-prune trees up, mulch
6-fix stairs up to pad, they need it bad.  throw grass seed all over......
7-address erosion issues all over (more than this workday will do)
11-clear out stumps by road
12-Walnut trees need to be raised all over and have some actual "lines" put in(same with that silly shot way left, trees need cleaned up to give an actual shot, not just a righty hyzer, unfair shots suck.
13-the area to the right of the tee pad to woods needs mown, chopped, etc.  The area up the hill has been cleared out nicely.  We also should think about the far right top of the hill pin, and creat a couple of erosion areas, built up walls, one with the pin, and another about 30' away.
18-plant some trees, really miss that double mando of a few years back, and just clean up the area, as well as possibly replace the old "stairway" to the original top pin.

Some ideas that I have, please start to share with what you feel may need to be done.

Cliff Drive / League Results 8/4/08
« on: August 06, 2008, 11:00:17 am »
On what some may consider a hot and humid night, 9 players determined that disc golf is just the right thing to do on MOnday at Cliff Drive.

With the work done on the new hole #1 teeing area, and moving #10 into the long position, the determination was made that the not ready for play yet #1 would have to wait.....soon, will come.

With the heat, the throws from many were hard to keep it in the -, and thus the scores showed it:

3-way tie for first, that Hart Donation had to relieve himself from after the first playoff left a tie after 4 extra holes in the heat.  Which meant that Brain Gammon and Jamie Dangers "won" the league.

Brian Gammon-56
Jamie Danger-56
Kevin Hart-56
Jack Lowe-57
Mark Morales-58
Dan Coffman-59
Steve Hostetler-64

No ace was hit, so come on out next monday and try to take some money!

Their distances sometimes are close to 25% off what the signs say.

I'll see if I can get the plotted points on Swope for us from home sometime.

I tried to give it to Chappy, but it somehow ended up in my yard again....then I was using it as a water dish for the cat, and now it sits in my driveway, neglected and sad.....I'll try to get it to DGW, I was close.....if you are at Cliff, you can swing by place and it is right behind my truck.

no its is barely over 300 to the left pin from the long pad, I've driven past it before.  I know its downhill, but it isn't the mountains.....

Changed the date of the City of Fountains, it will be on Sunday the 21st.

Please plan accordingly.  The Chiefs PLay Atlanta, so it may be one of the games they win this year.......but it is away game, so I did not see any need to mess with the other folks, would rather have them on board than make them mad as they grow into the sport.

I may change it then, would rather have Charity people that had fun come play Cliff and Blue Valley, plus it gives me an extra day to set up the Blue Valley Course the way I want it.

but since the PDGA info has been up since April, I was thinking that way.....I am not opposed to moving it to Sunday though...

Very private.

I have a call in to see if we can move it to Sunday.  We will then advertise it at the City of Foutnains on Saturday.

I am hopeful that we can get both to work that weekend, it would make for some great disc golf that is for sure.

I'd like to thank Kevin Hart, and Joe hesting for all of thier help yesterday.  Without those guys showing up, nothing could have gotten done!! ???

Ok, so they were the only 2 that did not show up that siad they would.
came out and kicked #10 out fast, then moved on to #1.... where we started to clear out the area that will be the tee pad.  For those of you that do not know, the area to bottom of the current location is actually where #1 will be located at.  You will play another BLIND shot up the hill and out, where there will be multiple pin settings.

We started to work on #8, but the heat prevailed after Gates.

Right now we plan on having workdays at Cliff in the evenings prior to the Lions Den, on the 19, 20, and 21 (Non E/C members) of August in preparation for the Lions Den Open on the 23rd.

I would like to make it ready so that on the following weekend we are all set up to put in the forms for the pads, so that we can then have the P&R get ready to pour, or bring in the concrete to make it happen.

I haev not yet determined if I am going to play or work tonight on the course, but it is looking good on the course with the exception of the shaggy grass, but hey, I'll take a mow now, and mow later closer to the LDO.....

Thanks to the folks that have volunteered this weekend, but more if not most importantly thanks to all of the people that have helped over the years.  Every year we do more and more to help this park become AWESOME, and every year we do it right!!

I voted for ya!!!

Looks like the people really wanted you there....

I thought about it.....but no, I have Dylan tonight, so no need to bring a 3 yr old out there in this heat.

Had a "loaner phone" 5 minutes after I got to work....the sad thing is that my SIM card (holds phone # and some contact info) only made it to the letter H.......guess that is what happens when you have over 700 #'s in your phone......
