they don't wanna be the GM, just a director of their backyard, and the surrounding 30 acres.

it is bad.  I went there yesterday on my lunch to talk about the tee pads, drove through the park from the Renner entrance South and circled back up and counted 7 deer in the disc golf area, and this was at 11:00am.

I dont really care how they get it done, but I hate ticks, so lets keep lyme disease in the urban area to a minimum, and it sounds like they understand it as well.

quite the contrary, now you get a chance to enjoy the location that you are at, and not be completely exhausted from trying to tackle 7 rounds in 5 days.  Last year there were many people that were just tired and exhausted.  It does not make for the best golf to have exhausted people vying for a championship.  You want to be fresh, and with a spring in your step each round.  Its not an endurance test, and the heat of summer hurts many from being at the top of their game.

This is about winning disc golf at a high level.  It is about having a good time while doing it, and it is about enjoying yourself.  This should also give you a chance to check out other divisions that you may not have been able to do in years past.

Idle time is not bad.  I'l work on the tornadoes but no promises!

it was addressed to me and to the personell in his department.  I would imagine that they will work on it this week and next.  He was very surprised to learn that the Purchase Order had been cancelled, and that was the hold up.

He acted quickly and swiftly to move forward with the green light after he found the issue (tuesday) and sent the note out last night.

On another note all you concrete reading internet types......I have a couple of issues that I am hopeful you may be able to help.

1) Staining the concrete.  They would like to have the pads stained to match the color scheme of the natural stone throughout the park.  What have you done, and what works and doesn't work in your experience?  Looking for actual hands on experience here if possible.

2) Benches form needed.  I was thinking of building more like a "rock wall" (think Water Works walls) at each hole as a bench instead of the benches that we have been using.  Utilizing the rocks within the area for the most part, but then getting some type of similar rock that is already cut to be level at the top.  Anyone done anything like that?  I think that it might look more in line with the course aesthetics.

The tee signs will be positioned on large boulders from the park that will be behind the pads, and then slightly at an angle.  I have not heard about anyone donating trash cans yet, but we will need to work on that, as well as something to secure them appropriately.

Also Drew went out yesterday and started to clean up around the the reservoir.  This is GREAT.  I only ask that we work on #11 long and #16.  If we tackle the reservoir and start to expose the wrought iron, trust me the entire community is going to love us even more.  If we get all the exterior side of it, then I will work with the P&R at attacking the interior of the fence.

Cliff Drive is coming along nicely.  Please help out by spreading the word if you like the course, and letting me know if there is something you don't like (besides the open holes being to open.....)

NOt sure what the above post was referrencing, but they are hoping to have the pads installed next week.  Every time to date that they have been attempting to complete this it has rained on them.  Alternate pin settings should also be going in about this same time.

Watch for more developments as "deer finds a pad, or Bucks for shots starts here" to happen soon......(think rocky and bullwinkle folks.....)

everyone does not play on saturday.  Everyone does not play on Saturday as it is the semi-final round and final round, only about the top tier in each group.

So why not beat a dead horse a little.....

Got this note this morning from the P&R.

Requisition for concrete is in the process of being secured. We did have a PO for concrete going back to last March as I had recollected, but the city cancelled the PO at the end the fiscal year April 30.

In any event, we have concrete. Start pouring!

Have you checked into getting a brown or beige stain that could be sprayed on the concrete after they are poured to make them look more natural? This would be good to get done if possible.

This explains now a little more why the pads were not done for the Mighty Mo, and the P&R were uncertain as to why.  Some times you have to wait for the sun to come up before you can see clearly now.

just stand tall and pay attention next time.....there was more than one person in your all shoulda paid for some attention, but then we'd have to raise league fees to $20

I left my CE Valk's with someone elses name down there, I think I left about 6 of them.... ;D

Good use of the discs Rick, thanks again for all that you do for our sport in town.  We are spoiled to have you here and as a resource for disc golf, I think many people don't eralize how lucky we got it.

You make KC Golf better, like it or not, its true.

Green?  I think that is the only thing Demian found at league on Monday when he spent about 20 minutes looking for a couple of discs....he thought his first one went in (it didn't) so his provisional he had the brains of a horse, and thought he'd throw a forehand over the reservoir to the green (its only about 450' away, no run up, no problem right?) anywho, he went to look for his lost discs, and then came out with one, but I don't remember it may have been white.

I'll Take APX's that people do not want!

Weird night with the weather, but it was all good in my book....of course I am biased.  The course looked great, a little dark with the weather, but we made it through.

Well, I just went down to Tower Tavern to register. They looked at me like I was smokin Crack, and told me they did not know anything about it. I'd stick to Disc Golf World for registering.

                                      Critter :P

Yeah it was the disc golf that made them think that about you.......

Is that what you called for saturday?  I was dead tired from the work day.
