Cliff Drive / Re: Cliff Drive Wish list

Once we know what is the official stance from them, we'll do the forms, bring in the gravel, and then probably just have them bring in a cement truck to make it work, but I will let them know.

The city wanted to buy like 130 bags of quickcrete, and we want the real deal, and they agreed, so.....they have ordered it, but it was a close call during the budget time if it got in, I am not sure at this point what has been approved or not.  I will find out and post in here.

You really have some choices that are realistic.

WaterWorks is by far the must play course in KC based on local info and out of town info.  It is probably 20 minutes from the stadiums.

Blue Valley would be the closest, and on that Saturday, there is a league at Cliff Drive which is probably 10-15 minutes from there at 10 am ($5+$1ace fund)  And then you could hit Blue Valley on the way to the game..hehehehehehe......

Rosedale has 2 courses it is probably about 20 minutes from that area as well.

There is also a course at Yates Elementary, but it is rather small.

Blue Valley is a monster, the easiest hole is probably the 512' down hill shot on #2.....thats the easy hole.....

The best thing to do in all honesty is ask a few folks up there, and they will tell you plan accordingly, with a 6:00 game time, you could get in 2 rounds very easily, but if you play Blue Valley, you will only want to play one round.

Swope / Swope Dog Park
« on: April 02, 2008, 02:28:50 PM »
I heard a rumor about talk of a dog Park, and asked the Manager of the region for Swope if that is happening.

Response is as follows:

If the Dog Park Task Force considers Swope Park for a dog park, we would work
with them to identify a viable location. One location that has only briefly been
discussed is where the old gravel lot is north of the Maintenance Compound - at
the north end of Elmwood. Another possible location could be at 69th and
Cleveland. No real decisions. NO current programmed areas would ever be
displaced for a fenced off-leash area, if you are worried about the Disc Golf

The Disc Golf Course is not in jeopardy. We all see it as an incredible
asset in Swope Park.

Marci Jones
KCMO Parks and Recreation, South Region Manager

so there you have it.....

not talking casual play, as long as your dog doesnt interfere, I am typically fine with it.  It becomes how well behaved your dog is.

I may be wrong, but the competition manual states, no animals. (period)  For competition you typically are not going to have people that need a service animal, you would need to have a caddy who would help you in those instances, thus the wording of the rule.....just for the sake of argument....

in baseball CD you still have to turn in a lineup to the umpire before the game.  You have to keep score on a scorebook, you use the scorebook to keep count of pitches.  Batting cages and Jugs machines are not cheap, and learning the fundamentals is all that baseball shuold be about.  You should also teach each child how to properly keep score, one of the best ways would be to take them to a game after showing them, then grade it afterward.  Also keeping the scorebook accurately will allow you to give out awards at the end of the season for the appropriate stat.

Baseball is almost only about statistics.  I mean in what other profession can you get multimillion dollars for doing something 3 out of 10 times?  if you can do it 4/10 you become a god like legend.
