Nope, been a steelers and pirates fan since I was able to discern that the Big Red Machine was done with their winning ways ( I always hated Pete Rose, but loved the Reds, Johnny Bench was my hero).  Being from IA I have the luxury of being a fan of what I chose not because I have to support the community I live, so I liked Pittsburgh (Black and Gold is also Iowa Hawkeye colors, and I am all BIG TEN, not big 8 ) so that could of played into it.

Bradshaw, Swann, Stallworth, Harris, Rocky, Ham, Lambert, Webster, Mean Joe, LC Greenwood, Dwight White, Mel Blount, Art Rooney and Chuck Noll, man ever since I was a wee one, and the Frenchy Fugua against the Raiders, I was hooked.  It really helped that I hated the cowboys, I thought the whole O-line dance thing was about as stupid as anything I could ever imagine, and just thought that they were ridiculous, so it made sense to me to love the Terrible Towels, and then watch as Bradshaw made it happen.  Used to love watching Earl Campell as well, man the AFC Central was tough then.

So I come by the Steelers honestly.  When I was 4 or 5, my grandpa got me a Chiefs helmet.  I didn't wear it, because I didn't like the red helmet, I wanted to have it Black.  Being Catholic I of course loved the Irish, and then when I was 7 or so I took off the stickers and spray painted it Gold, got a little towel to cover myself and wrote # 3 on it.  I thought that was the coolest thing ever to do, and I was not alone in the greatness that ensued.  Now I am an AFC person, but for a time, I liked the gold in the NFL that was a dynasty as grand as the Curtain, but I never left, and living in KC, I have to support the home team, and I am hopeful as many others that our time does not feel like a 5 year plan any longer.

Chiefs football in the early 90's when I moved here was fun to watch.  I only hope that we get at least 1/2 that same excitement next year here, but for right now, I can clearly see my favorite PITTSBURGH STEELERS winning the Lamar Hunt Trophy, then getting the Lombardi, but it will be tough, as I'd like to see the Cardinals at least get to the game (I think every franchise should be in a championship game in Football, well except for the Raiders, and the Cowboys, and the Ravens, and the Colts, and the Broncos, but I did root for the orange Crush b/c I hate Dallas, I mean I hate them)

So if the Browns do beat the Steelers this weekend, I will be rooting for the NFC.

I am a STEELER FAN, if in doubt ask the KC Star, they refused to interview me because as it was pointed out when asked if I am a chiefs fan about Carl, my "friends" indicated that I was a Steelers fan, to which the reporter interviewed all of those around me, and left me alone.

Being alone as a steelers fan in KC, I can hang with.  We are tough like that.

It really doesn't matter, the Steelers will be eating birds the next 3 weeks in a row anyway, so who ever is there, I hope that they don't mind watching Fast Wille and Big Ben splitting the Wishbone from the birds.....

We are workingon VIP issues already, but the best way to help is to get your company involved with getting a tee sign out there.  Players get an additional $100 savings for a tee sign, so if your playing it would only be $200/sign

I'd argue that.....I was playing with my buddy Ted in Indiana one time, and we couldn't find the tee......we decided to throw from a spot about 210' away (that's what made me think of it) so Ted hits the chains, and calls it an ace.....I was all like really....c'mon (he barely played the game, so it irritated me, and at the time i still had not had an ace....it was like 1995, I did not get my first ace until 1999, yeah I played from 1978-1999 with no ACES get over it, I did....sorta....) and then looking behind us I finally spotted where the actual tee was.....so we played it as we shuoud have or close to it, the course was under construction it was 18 then, but its 9 now, but Ted still calls it an ace....so is it an ace or not?

I still do not like to call it an ace....he does.....

Tournaments / Re: CHILI CONTEST WINNER GETS A BASKET!!!!
« on: January 08, 2009, 12:45:14 PM »
Well.....one year I did just that, #'d them, put them in a cooler and then had the judges sample them that way.  Maybe I'll do it again this year, just put in heat pads in the cooler instead of Ice.

Dick what a great idea.  Its amazing it came from your head.

So then what I will do is as follows:

Chili Registration-
You see Jack, he gets your chili and a # for you and will take a small sample for the judges to eat.
I will then put in a cooler/with warmer attached  in my truck.
When the judges show up I will distribute chili to them accordingly.
They will tally and announce a winner (Me of course)
