I recently had a chance to play the course in Sedalia, MO also and it was fun for a short 9 hole course.  I'm assuming it's also ment for beginners since there is an RC track at the same park.  Almost all blind tee shots because of the cedar trees.  It will be a great place to take a buddy of mine who likes wide open bomb shots... what tag do you have now Matt?   ;D

I had better results with my Katana today. When i wasn't hitting trees, and used more of a putter grip, I got good glide.  I still can't het any distance out of it, though because as soon as I put any power behind it, it flips over and i can't control it.

I'm not sold on this plastic.  I got a 130 ish Katana and have only gotten two shots that didn't flip over.  Granted I played waterworks, and that may have been a bad course to test on.  I threw my buddies 150ish boss and had better results.  Playing swope tomorrow, but I'm thinking i won't be spending much time or energy on this disc.  Good concept, and for some people it will probably work great.  I'm not sure its for me though.

As a kid I used to go to Oceans of Fun all the time.  I remember that by the water slides, there used to be a disc golf course.  Does anyone know what happened to that course, or if it's still around?

I also have heard rumors of a new course going in Belton, so I looked around for more info on that.  Nothing about disc golf, but I did find out that the ball golf course is located at 4200 bong ave...  seriously?  Only in Belton!

Flyer says $20 for Rec Mens, but when you go to sign up at dynamic discs web site, it's $22?  Am I missing something?

Thanks to Disc Golf World for putting on an excellent event!  I had a blast hanging out and playing a couple of rounds on a beautiful January day.  I think there was great organization, and support thru the entire event.

Ok, I maybe a newbie on the Disc Golf course, but I've got several blue ribbons under my belt for Chili.  I'll whip up a batch of Big Jon's Game Day Chili!  I usually make two varieties, hot and OMFG that's hot!

It was last years flyer!  I'm hoping it doesn't rain all day tomorrow, but rain or shine I'm coming to play!  Thanks for all of the hard work you guys are putting into making this thing happen!

Ok, I'm confused now.  My buddy just downloaded a flyer, suposedly from this site somewhere that lists the event as being on Sunday the 21st?  The title of this thread is "...Saturday 8-20..."  Can someone confirm which day this event is occuring on, Saturday or Sunday?

Since mapquest already led me astray once, due to cliff Dr being closed, what is the best way to get into the park Sat am?  I'm coming from Less summit.  I can go I70 or 470 to 435 or 71.  Looking at the map, it seems like I70 to prospect is fastest, but what about closed roads and the like?

I'm pumped about this event.  I've been wanting to play cliff drive for a while, and my buddies and I even made an ill fated journey up there one morning to find cliff drive closed on the weekends.  Were from Less Summit, so were not that familiar with the area and played swope instead.

I've also been wanting to play in a tourney this summer, so this will be the perfect chance to do both while listening to some kicking tunes and having a refreshing beverage or two.  And did I mention I'm also a Leo (Aug 1st) so this is just perfect.

Very informative.  Hopefully I can cary some of that over to the course.  I've been trying to figure out how everyone who makes those 400' shots make it seem so effortless, when I'm barley making it 100' sometimes.

Somewhere between holes 6 and 9 my road runner must have fallen out of my bag.  Went to throw it on 9 and it was gone.

Found and Lost / Lost Champ Groove (Tie-Died) Legacy #8

My nemisis hole.  The big tree at the bottom of #8 at Legacy Park has consumed more of my time that I care to admit.  I've thrown discs into the tree, and all around it.  Before the rough was mowed last week the weeds were almost waist tall.  Somewhere in that mess, I lost my 175 Champ Groove.  I throw RHBH and my disc ended up in the rough to the Right of this hole.  My name and number is written on the back should anyone find this disc.

Hey Guys this is my first post to this forum.  I'm new to Disc Golf and, although I've known people who play it for years, this is my first year playing.  I've got a group of about five guys that I play with and we've played several parks around KC including Legacy, P. Hill, Swope, and Waterworks.  I like Swope and Legacy the best.  I would need a mountain goat to play waterworks again.

All in all, I think LSPR does a great job of keeping the park clean and mowed.  Although the rough was getting very tall at times, they have it mowed again now.  I've spent many hours logging around the tall grass searching for my disc and found all but one (Champion Groove Tie-Died lost in the rough to the Right of the Big Tree on 8 ).  I've also found lots of ticks, chiggers, a snake skin, and a clutch of what I think are Duck Eggs (hole 8, looking for my disc).  From what I can tell LSPR doesn't get much (if any) money from disc golf so the fact they even have a course at Legacy is awesome.

I threw another disc over the fence a couple of weeks ago and they were very accomodating by bringing it from the maintenace facility to the community center for me to pick up.  They could have just tossed it back over the fence into the weeds for me to search for again :)
