14 golfers made it through a really beautiful DU. The course is actually friendlier because you don't get the crazy rolls and stuff. Today is the last league until next fall. We had 464 players (+ today) for the year for a payout of $3,680. Doesn't suck. Still no 1100 rated round (even with the inflated PDGA system).
For all that inquired about playing last week, only 10 showed up to actually play in the snow. Wasn't that bad. Took a little longer to trudge through it all, but whatev' Mike D'open and Danny Knox tore it up with a 42. No lost discs. Expect much of the same this week. Estoy consiguiendo cansado de la nieve....
$60/$20 for $80 Ace fund now $221
-12 1092 Danny'n'D'Open -8 1058 DZ/MikeT (supposedly, after much delay) -7 1049 ERoc/Yaj (ERoc, I need $5 back) -6 1040 EKolk/OsamaBenHansen -4 1022 Jesse/Beckett (left handed)
Please, please, please take a shovel with you if you're playing today. The 9 tee pads I cleaned last Friday at Rosedale were clean and dry when we played Sunday. The ones that had been stomped down were still a mess. Makes a huge difference. Ummm, you'll need really long ribbon too.
26 people showed up to play what we thought would be a nice round with a little snow on the ground. Unfortunately the snow melted before we started. We NEVER get to play golf in the snow anymore (insert crying baby sounds). Remember (back-in-the-day) how much fun that was?? Cute little ribbons taped to discs and all. To the 2,351 texts I've received, YES we will play today. Why not? Ace fund is over $200. Photo opportunities abound... Traiga en la nieve y el frio!!!!
Got 1-3, 10-14, 18 at Rosie. Ain't rocket surgery. Waaaay easier to do virgin tee-pads. 1 or 2 groups before shovel makes for heavy load. C'mon man! DU post tomorrow, plan on ribbons. Should be interesting....
We're averaging 26 players through 16 weeks of DU League and have eclipsed last years record total of 401. With a few more weeks left (last league is 3/10) we'll see if we can approach 500. Cool. Awesome snowfall last night sets up what should be a picturesque round today. Bonfire as usual. Course is setup medium length.
32 players showed up to play in great conditions (Ice Bowl weekend) including PDGA champ Eric McCabe. The scores reflected the talent with 148 birdies recorded. Probably some kind of record for DU. With only a couple of more weeks of league, we have yet to card an 1100 rated round. At least half the course will be moved for today's round. Diversa disposicion para hoy!! (BTW, last week there were 19 players, but I don't have any data. I have added the $$ to our totals.)
Short course = low scores. I wasn't here last week, but heard there were lots of really low scores. I'm thinking -17 (or better) for an 1100 rated round. We'll see. Expect more of the same today. We meet at hole #9 (some folks are still going to #1) If you are going to be late, you can call/text me @913.220.7470 and we can get you in. We are on pace to exceed 500 players this year which will shatter last year's record 401 players. We have to be pushing H2Oworks as the biggest league in KC. Keep it up! Or down....
$100/$60/$40/$24=$224 Ace fund $131 going into last week, so $163 today.
I'm planning to run DU Dubs. I'm playing my Ice Bowl round Sunday. I've been out of town and will update things later this week, but as of now....DU Dubs is a go. Should be a good day for another bonfire.
