Winter Leagues / Down Under League 12/8/12

A "Fifty Shades of Gray" moment early in the round last week on the new layout DU. Starting on new #11, E-Kolk whipped out his manly 167 pearly Beast and slammed it through the "V" straight into the hole. The chains were still shaking as skin was being slapped and money exchanged. Lot's of "ooohs" and "ahhs" could be heard throughout the valley. Who is this guy??? Ron Jeremy meets Dos XX guy? Paid $105, so expect some refreshments today.

Payout $110/$70/$50/$35/$23 Total $288. Ace $104 going into today.

Winter Leagues / Down Under League 12/1/12

Last round of "old style" layout as we will be playing the "new style" layout starting today. We will met in the area of #8, #9. This way we should be able to start everyone at the same time cutting at least 30-45 minutes of waiting at the beginning or end. Capiche? It's easier to park in the back lot. Yes, everyone must make the walk from #18 to #1, but at least folks like Otto can stop at their car for more toilet paper....

Still no 1100 "turbo" rated doubles round this season. Maybe today? 50 degrees with minimal wind factor. I digress...

Wow! 40 people is more like a mini tournament than league. Thanks to the folks who jumped up to #4 to ease the congestion at #1.

Payout was $120/$80/$60/$40/$20 for $320. Herberto (BobbyV) Villereal drilled #3 middle placement for a nice ace worth $142! Already paid, so expect some cervesas today. Ace fund now $141.

Winter Leagues / Down Under League 11/17/2012 and some course news

Temps in the 60's, lots of birdies, but still no 1200 rated round. A couple of teams have been really, really close.

We now have a "roughed in" new/replacement #9 which is a cool shot down the ravine to #10. Because we are losing and have lost a significant number of trees around the current #9 basket locations, we a re-configuring 2 holes. After the new #9, you still play the course as we have. Each hole after that is obviously 1 number less than before. (10 is now 9, 11 now 10 and so on). The proposed new #18 would go back down current #9 towards #8. The walk out would thus be closer to the parking lot and would not interfere with #5 up top. Come check it out. I digress....

Payout: $100/$60/$40/$24 Total $224. Ace fund $243.
