since the wide open is an A Tier for ams, you must have a full membership.  You can't play with just a $10 temp membership.

i think the pin he's talking about on #14 is where it is now.  with OB rocks 30 feet behind the pin.  this set up for corporate challenge would've gone BADLY.  trust me, the two CC ladies that played with my group at the swope spring renewal would've had NO FUN.

he must want his local rating to stay at 890.

Found and Lost / lost - yellow Star Roc at P Hill
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:28:47 pm »
OK, so Leslie lost her yellow Star Roc out at P Hill.  She threw it right into the woods on hole #10.  We looked for quite a while and never found it, what we did find though was seed ticks and lots of em.

so if you're ever out hunting for leslie's disc (hem, hem, dan coffman) make sure to wear your deet.

seems to me that by looking at those scores, jeff nelson would get the title of king sandbagger!  a 46 in intermediate!?

speaking of the old burnt out car husk, if anyone finds a White/Silver QOLF somewhere in the FOREST east of 15's island green, #31295, there's a beer in it for ya!  got a little overzealous with my 2nd shot after a poor drive and cooked it into the woods.

Beginners / Re: When is a beginner no longer considered a beginner?

the beginner's league is a lot of fun and will help you get your feet wet as it pertains to playing in a competitive situation.

some people do well, some people don't do so well when it comes time to actually record the scores for posterity.

however, if you're shooting high 50's - low 60's at WW, those scores are pretty darn good.  if you can repeat those scores at leagues, you will compete in the amateur divisions and you'll get to meet a lot of cool and like-minded golf addicts such as yourself.

i even have a favorite new players league memory: i came to the 18th hole at +1 for the round.  #18 that day was set on the 2nd pin, middle of the tennis courts.  my only thought was to get through the first tree gap and not flip the disc over.  nice low teebird off the tee out into the field for a 120+ foot upshot for the safe up and down and what would've been my best round ever (league or casual).  lo and behold my hyzer upshot with a medium 175 wizard slammed the middle of the chains for an improbable deuce that i still haven't repeated.  to cap it all off, it would prove to be my 1st Bag Tag victory; i gained tag #40 from steve harris.   my 1st round of par or better!  not such a big deal, but man, can golf make you come back for more!

i should've been more clear in respect to dates..

the 5-5:30 times are typically for early spring when there isn't enough daylight for a league round.

when time "sprung forward" this year, the league times all moved to 6:00.

TRANSLATION: if you wanted to play tonight, it would be fine to show up at 6:00  :)

ps-i'm not 100% sure of this, but i know that all of the other leagues are now starting at 6.

typically once daylight savings time is over, the weekly leagues start at 6:00 PM.
