it's on lake road and 164th street, on the SE corner of the Pleasant Hill City Lake..

you can either take 50 highway east to 7 highway south into pleasant hill and follow the signs to the city lake, or you can just take smart road south off of 50 east and follow it all the way to the lake...it's about 5-6 miles down smart and you can see the lake when you're coming up on it, when you get onto the gravel part of Smart Road you're getting close.

what's your point? big deal, jack didn't jump through hoops so you could feel good about yourself...do you want some kind of credit for your work?

the truth of the matter is, legacy park wasn't on lee's summit's radar then...i also said something about this to the parks board during their initial meeting about pottberg park a few months ago and they were adamant about using pottberg...

besides, who told you that you needed jack's permission anyways?  as a citizen, you have the right to approach the parks board if you want a course.  you may have better luck w/ the kcfdc behind you, but as far as i know you don't need a notarized document signed by jack lowe to float the idea of a course.  i know jack to be a take charge kind of guy, but if you think that he's talking down to you because he asked you to back off a little bit, i think you're reading into it a little too much...i have a feeling that lee's summit is a little touchy and maybe jack thought that if we approached them the wrong way, we'd never get a course here...

i live in lee's summit too and want a course here as bad as anyone, but to fly off the handle because you think you got disrespected makes you come off like a 16 year old...a forum is for constructive discussion and feedback, not bashing of certain people because you feel that you got wronged somehow

not to take away from young danny craig's win, it's not his first tourney...he won the mighty mo in rec earlier this year; he played well there too and i think he only had maybe 3-4 discs

edit: thanks rick and everyone that helped; very fun tournament that's always on our schedule

geez flickdaddy, who crapped in your cereal?

it's not jack's fault that there's not a course in legacy park...the city chose pottberg park, and has done so twice now...once it was struck down by the army corp of engineers, now it's been struck down by the homeowner's association in the same place...

it was the parks board's choice to put it there and it's their choice now to put one in legacy park...

the whole "i told you so" attitude just won't get you very far around here

well...

the disc golf course at pottberg park is....DEAD

though the residents said that they weren't opposed to disc golf in general, the homeowner's association later presented info to the Lee's Summit Parks Board that indicated that they were not opposed to the walking trail in the park, but are opposed to ANY DISC GOLF in the park period.   they think that it will increase crime and decrease property values.

if you'd like to read the full doc, see:

http://www.lees-summit.mo.us/content/parks/SeptemberBoardPacket.pdf

search for golf, you'll find the appropriate areas..

however, on the brighter side of things, Legacy Park (a VERY large lee's summit park) is now being considered for possible disc golf development
