Summer Leagues / Re: What's going on with the lack of information?

It shouldn't take much in the way of skill to write a stand alone executable that would prompt the user for numbers of players by division, and scores.  Maybe that would produce a CSV formatted file that the league director could then upload to the site?  Maybe just do some easy ASP and make a web app out of it.

I can do the stand alone piece if people want to work with me on use cases, though I think the web app would be a better choice.

I just want to say thank you for putting on a great tournament.  It was well organized and thought out.  A huge thank you for all of the water available for the afternoon round at WW!!  I think I drank about a gallon of water during that round.  Those hills were tough on a big man!

As for the entry fee vs players pack, I agree that this was a great players pack for a low fee.  I'd like to say that I made it home with everything, but my stool didn't fare so well!!  It only made it about half way through the first round before collapsing.

As to the additional rounds, A vs B tier etc...  I would like to see a similiar format next year.  I can see a case for making the Advanced an A tier, and or having them play a third round, but leave at least the Rec div to play an easier layout.  I have heard quite a few people comment that Rec is mostly younger players.  That may be true, but it's also for inexperienced players, or players who just want to go and have fun in a competition environment.  I.E. Fat Old men play Rec too :)  Just my $.02!

Again, Great tourney!  I had a blast!

This is the Midwest Amateur Championships.  It's supposed to be a challenging tournament with challenging layouts.  If you want easier layouts, maybe smaller tournaments (like LSDiscs' recent Run for the Roses) would be a better choice for you.  I'm not trying to say your suggestion is a bad one, but for a tournament with a big footprint that could possibly get WAY bigger, I think it should stay challenging.

Great tournament.  Loads of fun.  Tough layouts.  Thanks for everyone's hard work to let us have a good time on the best courses around!  KC really is a special place for disc golf.

ok my 919 rating is looking at Palmer....but I don't wanna get beat in that division as well.  I already get beat in enough other divisions, so why would I need another division to feel inadequate in?

Get to 40 year of birth already will ya? >:(

Aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, I beat you sucka!

i guess some people like to stroke there ego and play down "just to get that win"

So are you playing Pro Masters now General?  Maybe even Open?  With your answer, it would seem like playing in a protected division is the same as "playing down"?

Ha, in all honesty I'd just like to drop it.  I may have misinterpreted Jeff's original post.  I wasn't trying to instigate an argument, I was simply making a defense to a comment I didn't agree with.  My bad.

His original comment was uncalled for if he didn't want a reaction.  And I'm thinking he did.

Again, if your rating allows it, who cares that division he plays in?  I look forward to competing against Jacob and I hope we have a card together; it'll be fun!

Seriously, all the bagger talk is funny when we're just giving each other a hard time, but there are some players (I don't know if Jeff is included) who really take it seriously.  But remember, Jacob's rating (and the PDGA's guidelines for that matter) doesn't support your opinions Jeff.

I'm interested in moving down to Rec from Advanced.  Is there any way the rarely seen Novice division might open up?

Since this is a sanctioned tournament Kevin, your 945 rating disqualifies you from anything but Adv, sorry.  :P

I believe we played one in emporia?  Maybe the monkey island?  Chill pill dude. I thought the game was 90% mental.  And yeah, I think anything over 900 is advanced

Wouldn't it be better if you just went out and tried to beat the course instead of worrying about other people's ratings?

Haters gonna hate, he throws too far, his rating is too high, etc; in my eyes, that means you already think you're going to lose to him.  And you're the one talking about testing someone's mental game?
