Rosedale / Re: Rosedale Work Day
« on: June 13, 2010, 09:07:56 AM »
On another note, I will probably be out on the non-raining mornings to continue to make preparations to the course. Those preparations include:
•   Finishing putting mulch down on the remaining holes
•   Mowing #1 deep and some minor clean up
•   Trimming back the honeysuckle in front of the tee pad on #3
•   Spray painting the OB and establishing the drop zone on #8 (after  the course is mowed)
•   Cleaning up along the tree line and defining the gap for the current placement of #9
•   Trimming back the honeysuckle on the right side directly in front of the tee pad on #15
•   Painting the OB on #16 where no fence exist (after the course is mowed)
•   Trimming up around the long placement on #16 and raising the ceiling on the path to #17 tee pad

Please let me know if you can help.  I  still need people with trucks to move the chips around to the tee pads. If you can only stay long enough to a fill a truck load or two and drop it on a couple of holes it will help.

It looks a lot like yesterday.  The rain and storms starting at 9ish and going until mid afternoon.  I don't think that we can get out to finish today.
I would like to thank all those that showed up to help on Saturday morning.
Mike and Clay Kaiser
Eric Minton
Zack Steutermann
Steve Harris
Dan Weinert
James McLaughlin
We were able to get mulch down on the first five holes before the sky opened.

We could use trimmers and weed mowers. Lunch will be provided. How about a Z-man.

I have an app for my Blackberry that that does just about everything that you could think of for disc golf, but it is a ball golf app.  I does every type of scoring system (even figures skins at the end of the round) and downloads all of the rounds to a server that I can check for stats.  It also sends the rounds via email to anyone that I play a round with that is entered in to the database.  It is very easy to use.

Rosedale / Rosedale Work Day
« on: June 09, 2010, 03:20:51 PM »
I will be working on the course Saturday morning and could use some help from people with trucks.  We have mulch that needs to be spread.  We also need  trimmers and weed mowers.  I will on the course before 9am and will work for a few hours.  Come on out and get some good karma for the Wide Open.  If you have questions let me know.

Isn't the tuning about bending the disc prior to throwing? People do that all of the time with out thinking about "tuning" the disc. I think some just do it nervously while waiting to throw. That would be a hard one to call someone on just for this one disc.

I moved 9 baskets in very nice weather, but left about at 5:15pm.  I didn't see anyone that usually plays league.

Tournaments / Re: SAINT LOUIS OPEN MAY 1st and 2nd
« on: April 26, 2010, 06:22:05 PM »
Anytime that you travel someplace that isn't your homebase the logistics of getting yourself to the course is a challenge.  Adding that you have to drive over 20 miles between Endicott and JB I would log nearly 50 miles before I ever start playing.  I can't see that happening for me.  I know that we are spoiled in KC with how close together the courses are here, but all that driving just to to get started.  I know I don't have much room to talk because I have never run an event, but it is a freaking A tier event.  Don't take day of registration and assign all of the divisions to the course and have the players check-in and the meeting at the assigned course.  That's my thought.  I know I'm a real buzz kill.  I play in St.Louis all of the time and I know I'm missing a great time, but 150 miles or more between courses in two days...Really.

Best of Luck to all KC golfers.

Do all division still have to meet at Endicott for check-in and the players meeting on Saturday morning?  Then drive to the course that you will be playing.  I know that kept me from playing this tourney previously.  My sister-in-law lives ten minutes south from Jefferson Barracks and I could not see myself driving Endicott and back to the same course if I pre-registered.  I even called the TD to plead my case and was told thats how we do it here.  I hope they have changed that with a new TD.

Found and Lost / Re: FOUND: Waterworks- Glasses & case

Thanks for posting those are my  glasses.  I hope you still have them.  I wish I would have known you found them when we talked last night while you were looking for your disc near the fence on the ball diamond.

PM me and I will try to figur out how to get them back.
