Here is the schedule we have working as of now. Take a look at that schedule folks. We are spoiled to the core with disc golf. Everyone pat themselves on the back and give thanks.  ;)

Please notice we don't have anything confirmed for the east side of town,Legacy or Young, or in Liberty. If anyone would like to make a league happen, let us know. We are still looking for someone to make SMP league happen on the west side of town. It doesn't have to be on Tuesday.

League Coordinator has a few primary responsibilities. Be there on time, communicate with the people who need to know, run a fair league, fill out paper and on-line doc for each week, and make timely deposits or get them to someone who will. The KCFDC will provide you with everything you need to get started.

Leagues officially start April 1st

Leagues / Summer League 2015 at SMP
« on: February 25, 2015, 10:04:17 pm »
The days are getting longer and we will soon be back to non-glow league play five nights a week.

We have a couple of opportunities to help with 2015 league. While Peter Bures is staying on as Course Coordinator, he has stepped down from running SMP league and we are looking to fill that spot he held for many years. Thank you Peter.

Water Works / Water Works Trash and Baskets
« on: January 12, 2015, 01:17:25 pm »
Thanks to Mark Mills, Kujo, Jamie Barry, Mike Fenton, Danny Rodriguez, and Ryan Keck for their help with WW this weekend and today. Mark and Kujo are moving some baskets today and all the trash cans have been emptied and bags carried to the street.

If you are out there playing, any help is appreciated and if you pack it out, pack it in. Also, we carried a lot of bottles out yesterday. Please no bottles, or take em with you.

Pete Cashen is working on signage, and we will spread the word.

Winter Leagues / Remaining Glow Dates
« on: November 28, 2014, 07:01:21 pm »
We are looking for someone to run the remaining KCFDC glow dates;
DEC 20   Rosedale
JAN 24   Swope
FEB 21   Liberty
MAR 21   SMP

Ben Crosby has other responsibilities to take care of and we'd appreciate anyone who would like to help. I am unable to, otherwise, I would.
This would mean coordinating the set up and return of all the chains and lights. I am guessing a three to six man team can get this fairly quickly if planned in advance. We will provide a payout sheet and all that jazz. Interested in helping out? Contact me or just respond here.

I am planning on running a couple of glow leagues soon; one at Old Pike and the other at WW. Details to follow.

General Banter / November 15th Club Elections/ Voting Item

KCFDC Club Elections
[/b]

November 15th Westport Flea Market Banquet Room 4:00-8:00
[/b][/size]

Once again, the KCFDC hopes a free meal will bring a large turnout for this year’s elections. “Drinks” are on you. The KCFDC has got the rest.

Current club members attend for free. Not current? Re-up or pay 10 bucks for dinner.

The Chiefs and Royals baskets will be raffled that night. Yes, the baskets are going that night. Bag tags are also available that evening.

4:00 -5:00 Disc Swap Meet - Bring what you want to sell or trade. Bring what you think someone will want or throw, not your junk. This will last from 4:00-5:00 and can reconvene after club business and elections.

5:00 -6:00 Dinner- Flea Market burgers, chicken breasts, roasted potatoes, salad, ice, tea and coffee. Alcoholic drinks not included.

6:00 -8:00 Club Business, Nominations, Elections, Basket Raffle, and Results. Disc Swap Meet continues.

There are five positions to fill this year.

Nominees do not to be present. A proxy member will stand in and speak for him/her. Anyone interested in self-nominating can email: ekolkmeier@hotmail.com

IMPORTANT

There is a motion to amend our Bylaws, and this must go to general membership and members will vote on this at our meeting.

Article V covers Officers.
Sections 6 through 9 cover the duties of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
It was amended last year (2013) to include: "This office must be held by a board member who attributes less than 51% of their income to disc golf related industries."

The proposal is to eliminate this clause and allow anyone who is elected by the membership to serve in any Board position.

A bit of background is in order. When Jack and Tavish worked with our current attorney to file for a 501 C 3. I believe it was the attorney's suggestion to include the original clause that forbade anyone who made most of their living from disc golf to be elected to the Board.

Last year's (2013) Board softened this by allowing such people to at least serve on the Board, but only as At-large Members.

The motion is to amend the bylaws to eliminate the clause that reads "This office must be held by a board member who attributes less than 51% of their income to disc golf related industries." from sections 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Article V.

Cliff Drive / Shared Use- MTBs and Disc Golf
« on: October 07, 2014, 01:49:49 pm »
This is just a heads up on avoiding some issues at Cliff Drive and Stocksdale as we play the courses and use the parks.

I have been in contact with the shareholders in these parks and everyone agrees we just need to raise awareness and inform and educate. So, there will be some new signs in both parks/courses/trails and as you play/ride be courteous and respectful of each other.

There will certainly be some feathers ruffled but the last thing we want is an injury or bad press for our sport and stewardship in the parks.

General Banter / Disc Golf Demo and Putting at Red X
« on: May 27, 2014, 10:38:17 am »
I am looking for anyone interested in volunteering on June 14th from 1-4 at Riverside Red X. Red X is supporting the Wide Open this year and we are promoting disc golf during their Father's Day Classic Car Show. I will be set up on the east side of the lot. I am going to have some putting baskets, mini baskets, and open green space to do some demonstrations.
If anyone is interested in helping out, please send me a PM. It should be fun and a good chance to educate some folks on disc golf and our community.

Swope / Swope League 4/29/14
« on: April 29, 2014, 12:58:37 pm »
Just gauging interest in league tonight. Patrick Smith will be there in place of Van tonight, and I'll be helping out too.
So with the rain, I am wondering on how many will come out to play tonight, and if I should wait to bring Ace beer till next week with presumably higher attendance.
I'll check back when we get closer and see what the weather is doing.
