Here people are getting all frothy over what?  Options?  We should be thankful to have so many options.  Personally I feel Rob is a great guy and ANYONE who runs any league is to be commended for their time and commitment.

I don't understand why there has to be so much beef about this.  If you want to play in a league do so.  If you want to play in another league do so.  If you don't, then go play with yourself.

Agreed.

Monday: Rosedale (Ladies and New Players), Olathe, Cliff Drive = 4
Tuesday: Swope, SMP, (Old Pike) =3
Wednesday: Rosedale, PDGA Wandering = 2
Thursday: Water Works = 1
Friday: WyCo, (FTL) = 2

So why the changes? Because that's what the people who run them can do. Our members don't want to be told what to do, do they? I know I don't. I have always been in favor of bottom up engagement by members. The schedule we are working on now it a result of who can do what and when. For example, there was no one to run New Players at Rosedale, but Aaron could do it at PHill. Rob started PDGA league last year, but now can only do it on Monday. Other folks have volunteered to help out even if the location isn't super convenient for them i.e Van Spratford moved up north but will continue at Swope.

Nate, Pete, and I put our feelers out and found out who could do what. Rob contacted me about PDGA league and he can only do Monday. Do our members want that? If so, thank you Rob.  And thank you to everyone involved Jack, Tom, Rhonda, Van, Mike T, Jay Rivard, Jason Pennington, Greg Utz, Harold, Mark Hogins, Aaron and anyone I missed.  If the membership doesn't want it. Let it be known. So far, I see only a couple of detractors and I think it is mostly personal and, frankly, it just pisses me off.

Obviously, this has become a mountain out of a mole hill and now I suppose we will need a formalized process of setting up the league schedule. OH JOY! I think this kind of behavior is what pushes people away from the club.

If I read this thread as a non-member, I likely would not join. Just saying.

So do we need a process beginning in February to determine the schedule? Will that make everyone happy? I think not. The sense I get is that the "almighty Board of Directors" has made some arbitrary decisions. Well being the head of the board, that has not been the case, I have simply communicated what I know.  Funny me.

I have tried to give members the opportunity to communicate and engage in planning. It's working. I guess.

I can't wait to play golf tonight.

You know no matter what you try, it's never good enough.

Does everyone see that this is a conversation about when we should have leagues? What I posted are what was proposed. Now instead of talking about it, folks are pointing fingers and blaming others.

Nothing is set in stone folks. How about some discussion on this forum. That is why we have it. Next board meeting is next Monday the 9th where among other things the league schedule will be discussed/approved/etc.

Not being snarky  ;) but that's where the most people live.  ;D

And conversely, according to the map, that is not the truth in Europe. There I would guess it is a matter of money and local government cooperation. But I really don't know.

The league proposal was submitted to the KCFDC and approved.

And it is what works for Rob. Who knows it may be different again next year.

I get your point Anthony, but it's all relative. Most clubs can barely keep leagues going. We are so lucky to have this awesome community to do the work and show up and play week after week.

Thank you for the input so far. That is why I am asking. Being human I am sure to get something screwed up on a first draft!

Corrected.

Please notice we don't have anything confirmed for the east side of town,Legacy or Young, or in Liberty. If anyone would like to make a league happen, let us know. We are still looking for someone to make SMP league happen on the west side of town. It doesn't have to be on Tuesday.

League Coordinator has a few primary responsibilities. Be there on time, communicate with the people who need to know, run a fair league, fill out paper and on-line doc for each week, and make timely deposits or get them to someone who will. The KCFDC will provide you with everything you need to get started.

Leagues officially start April 1st

The days are getting longer and we will soon be back to non-glow league play five nights a week.

We have a couple of opportunities to help with 2015 league. While Peter Bures is staying on as Course Coordinator, he has stepped down from running SMP league and we are looking to fill that spot he held for many years. Thank you Peter.
