Swope / Re: Swope League 2014

24 players out for Swope league tonight and in my opinion a very friendly group. Van couldn’t make it. Then CD couldn’t either, so in the end, I did. Happy to help out at the gully course. A great mix of players tonight. I think the Masters division was at WW tonight.

Open: A two way tie for first ended in a play off between Matt and Anthony. Anthony prevailed on hole one.

Anthony Martella 46- 14.00
Matt Perry 46- 9.00
Kitz Seibert 48- 7.00
Kelly Babbit 50
Brian Swezy 51
Keven Corbett 53
Derek Holt 54
John Friend 54
Eric Kolkmeier 56
Kyle Weidwald 56

Advanced: A three way tie for first. No play off. Good shooting guys.

TJ Barnes 56 -6.00
Conner Knutson 56- 6.00
Josh Hurt 56- 6.00
Alex Wegman 60
Gary Bierge 73

Intermediate: A steady group of loyal league players in this division. I have met more than few new faces at this league. Keep getting better guys. 55 would have been second to last in Open and won Advanced. Just sayin'...
Graham Long 55- 10.00
Brett Main 57- 8.00
Brian Freeman 58 -7.00
Ben Patterson 59- 5.00
Zach Firil 60- 5.00
David  Blackburn 61
Andrew Warren 64
Michael Hendrix 66
Todd Henderson 71

Swope gold has already been broken down.
It has to be after the event since the land north of the course is used by P&R and the reception venue for parking. I wish it could stay too.

Karma for all the work done for this weekend!

It was a skip ace off the green. Actually jumped straight in! An amazing shot!

The course is in the ground. It's free to play at any time.

Except for Jayhawk fans.  $5.

Should have made you pay double for league last night for that comment!!

Ha!  Course looks great, thanks for running league Van.  I know it was a handful last night.

Ditto that!

Swope / Re: "WORK DAY" June 14th

Ben told me there were approx. 14 people out for the work day last Saturday. I never once had a work day with that many volunteers. Hats off Patrick Smith and all he and Gary B. have done at Swope. Their energy has clearly motivated many. Thanks again to everyone who participated.

Van, you may have a lot of out of towers that don't realize we will be teeing off at 5:45. So you may have to wait until 6 for the last card to go out.

Yep, and maybe some locals. Not everyone checks the numerous threads on this forum. Regardless, I am stoked to play it tomorrow. How many people do you think will be there? I'm hoping for 50. Old Pike is making a trip south just for it.

6-3-14 Long Windy Gully League

Van was away and the course was long. The wind kept us cool. 21 in the Ace Fund puts us back at 324.00 USD. It was all long pads, all OBs, and all mandos. Fun layout, but my arm was worn with all that wind.

Nice shooting Jordan!

Open
Jordan H.- 55-  $14
Mark Martin- 59- $ 6
Jacob H.- 59- $6
Dick Parker- 59- $6
Matt Perry- 60
Chris Timko- 64
Matt Crutcher- 66
John Friend- 67
Derek Holt- 69
Eric Kolkmeier- 69
Kevin Corbett- DNF due to injury

Advanced
Chris Newberg- 62- 9
TJ Barnes- 63- 6
John Davis- 65
Jake Daniel- DNF had to work

Intermediate
Luke B.- 69- 10
Brendan Egan- 70- 8
Chris McKee- 71- 7
Brett Mann- 72- 5
Ben Patterson- 75- 4
Joshua McKendrick- 77- 2
David Lehane- 79-
Zach Firil- 79-
David Blackburn- 79-

Well the wind didn't help with the length at Swope right now, but it's always fun to play longer layouts.  All but two holes were maxed out per Timko's examination so it was a long, but fun evening.  Low round on the night was 55.

And Jordan shot it. Full scores coming tonight.
