....... I like to unload my bag a couple times from home base and then go...... It helps a lot.

I am guessing every disc golfer would recommend finding your technique over trying to copy someone else's. Certainly, there is value in tips and advice from Pro players but time and practice will build that conistency in distance/accuracy. If you have seen me throw, you know I do not run up and barely cross step. Now I do not throw 400 + consistenlty, but I do throw 350 w/o a ton of effort, and it usually goes where I want it to. It's not because I am tall. It's because I have developed that shot over time. The shot does include the pull back and some of the "spacing" advice from Feldberg and Big Jerm.

In short, practice, practice, practice. The ball diamonds are a good place to start. I like to unload my bag a couple times from home base and then go throw a few holes. It helps a lot.

Super Awesome David Walker found the CE Valk and returned it to DD. I owe David a handshake and a beer for sure. Great people we have out there!

T'was a great night out. Thirty players made for a great field of  five sixomes. Lee Killian and BJ Font took home first place and eighty bucks! There was a three or four way tie for second which took the remaining seventy bucks. I imagine they split it. Jesse made brats and brought the ace beer.

Old Pike / Re: Swope Diversity Reciprocal Field Trips

Great time last night. BTW Swope took the ace fund. Specifically, Jesse had a blind and silent ace on the Knotty Hole long position. Furthermore, three of the six people who took home cash were Swopers.

I expect the Old Pikers will whoop up on us next week.  ;)

Rosedale / Re: Down Under League Starts Sat 10.27.12
« on: October 26, 2012, 09:26:32 PM »
Dear Yaj,
I know this has come up before, but the rolling start with 25 - 40 players keeps me away more often than not. I love this league, but rarely play it because of the time I have to commit. Down Under over three and a half hours  is painful at times.

But to everyone else, Palmer is exactly right. It is random draw and those three to three and half hours can be great, or not. Great league, no doubt.
Ten bucks a man. Hell yeah. Bring it. Support local disc golf and win some $.

Rosedale / Re: Be on the Lookout

Pretty normal these days to see people pulling what others throw away. Swope has its resident can guy too. Rosedale up top has had a couple collecters for years now. I would only give them trouble if they dump the whole trash can to get the cans and leave the mess. Yes, that happens now and again too.

So, why would the club be so concerned about corporate challenge and where it is held. If the event is that weekend, why not try another course, CC? Just a thought. From my perspective, club events should take priority on courses the club maintains. Ryan, you wanna use Swope? Use Swope.

And again, I am super stoked about this event. Kudos to T.W.

General Banter / Re: Cubby
« on: October 25, 2012, 06:38:37 PM »
Talk to Peter Engelman about Cubby. Peter has played a couple rounds with him at Worlds. I hold Peter's opinion in high regard generally speaking. I mean that he has a great read on people, and he assures me that while Cubby may make a lot of 150 foot aces he is the real deal in disc golf. Additionally, Peter says he only takes one shot per hole. He just throws a ton of holes.
