Our very own Loomis and Minna are back for the LDO because who wants to play the Vibram when you be at Cliff Drive and LDO!

Overheard at LDO X, "Hey did you guy's see the touring PROs?"

See you all in the morning.

I was out there today for some trash cleanup and pin movement. After the trash, I was zonked by the heat, so only moved 1,2,and 4. Little hot for me so I will not be out for doubles tonight. Good luck. Shoot from long pads.

i was using wd-40, is krill oil better for you?

WD-40 only attracts dirt.

Wish I could have made it Saturday. It looks like it was a great day for golf at WW.

Well if it's not about the money, why don't we lower the entry fee to $3 and make it winner take all?

I'm lost. ?

Wow I get to post another ace! Arturo hit 18 short at WW last night with a Star Destroyer. It was a beautiful shot, and we stood there in disbelief that he  got that super tight hyzer line to work. Once it had missed the first tree on the right, we all knew it had a chance.  Nice one Arturo!
Heck of a week for league aces!

That would be Mr. Fred Fortsen.  Easy hyzer, dead on line the whole way.  Well worth the $5 to witness it.  Good shot Fred!

Thanks Palmer.

Fred Fornsten got hole 11 at Swope league tonight. Minus dues it should be good for 230 or so. Nice shot Fred!

Well Van made it even easier and we played the short pads. Fred Fornsten (SP?) got the only ace on hole 11. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Singles tomorrow at the gulley course. I thought it was the first of the month, but no. Somebody please post that awful song.
I'm setting the whole course short tomorrow due to the heat. Ace fund is about 485-500. I'm not for sure, but worth one short nonetheless.

OLD PIKE, best payouts in KC, BaaaaaaLeeeeedat!

Who invited this guy?  :)

I used to say the same thing last year when Swope was moved to Monday, and we had Tuesday league anyway.

Cool! I'll get the Kraut, Chips and other condiments.

Should be a blast tonight folks, come on out!

Since Utz wants to promote Old Pike on the Swope thread, I will just remind you that the oldest course in KC has a club league every Tuesday as well. No brats  :) , just good sexy golf.  Next week is random draw doubles if Van does as he has been.

SMP is also every Tuesday for those on the west side of town. Club member Peter Bures stepped up to run that league this year.

Three leagues on Tuesday in this little ol' town. Welcome St. Mary's!

Sexy Payout + Food Night < Participation in CLUB event   ???

Word. At a way sexier course to boot. I will not be at any league tonight due to deadlines and commitments, but hope to bring it next week in true ekolk form.
I got one of the super light star lite star bright discs today. Itchin' to throw it.

This forum could use some more Neckbeard. As usual, your review and rebuttal was just what I needed for a Sunday smile.

Congrats Mina!! Most of us (everyone except SD apparently) are very proud of your achievements and respect/envy your dedication. Keep killin' it

Word! More Neckbeard and less hate. Way to go Minna and Loomis.

Adam Morrison and Sarah Hokom rocked it to the top as well.

It's good to see Hyzer back with his usual rants, and he brings up an excellent point. It is 3 to 5 guys/gals who generally do all the work at any given course. They do this on their time and sometimes dime. To some degree it's just a fact of organizations; a small number of people, say 20%, cause the vast majority of problems, and similarly, a small number of people do the vast majority of work. The name for this slips my mind on this Friday night. Regardless of what it's called, Mike has a valid point. Maybe the timing for this watering event was poor for the vast majority, yet we can all still be involved.

Many may not know it but the KCFDC is one of the largest disc golf clubs in the country, and hence the world. I hear lots of gripes about the club, the board, the courses, the tournaments, and so on. Well, you want it, so let's work together to change it. The KCFDC BoD has worked hard to create a culture of greater transparency  which is moving away from the old model of two or three individuals doing all the work  and delegating responsibilities to general membership, BoD members (all nine), and course coordinators in an effort to be  more proactive in our behavior. We invite more participation from general membership in all aspects of the organization and disc golf in general.

All of us have a course, a cause, or community we love for whatever reason. What can you do to make it better? Help benefit others? Educate others about your passion? The KCFDC wants to help make that happen. Even if Mike does bad mouth us every chance he gets, it's because he loves the game and the community.

Next Board meeting second week of August.
