Bring on the complicated scenarios for Metal Muncher. I have thought of a couple already. We can discuss and resolve on the board and have a complete list the day of.

What if...? and What about when...?

Sep 24th Kansas City Ace Race

Sponsored by the Kansas City Flying Disc Club, Dynamic Discs, Tall Grass Brewing

Rolling start from 8:30 to 10:00

Registration closes at 9:00

Last card must be out by 10:00

Lunch starts at 11:30 (Walking Tacos, venison tacos in a bowl, with all the fixings)

Drinks provided by Tall Grass Brewing

Non-alcoholic drinks also available

Between round games start at 11:30

Ring of Fire, CTP w/ your prototype disc, MTA, and TBA day of events.

We will have CTPs during the round as well (probably for the longer shots).

Second round TBA (approx. 1:00)
(If you have to leave early, you can play both rounds whenever you need to)

Metal Muncher optional side bet (10 bucks cash) w/ 30% final pay out. Any metal above the basket is one point. Aces are three. Leaners, tweeners, and toppers are two points. Dont worry we will have enough baskets out there for you to hit lots of metal (side by side, stacked and hangers are likely). Second round option: any player in the side bet can call Metal Muncher for double points on any hit. However, if nothing is hit the player loses 2 points. Points must be circled on the card, only for the second round to signify + or points. This is a points race after all.

Special thanks to: Peter Engelman, The West Plaza Tomato Company, David Emerson, FLHW and all the volunteers.

Mark your scorecard with a 1, 2 or 3. If nothing is hit, please mark  -

"Before that change took place we never had a complaint from ams about the league structure."

Well, I can say that I never complained because I stopped playing league under that structure. Food for thought. This summer I played at least two leagues a week, giving two bucks a week to the club. As an Am, I would not go back to playing for KC Cash. I would play pro now, but six months ago, no way. What changed? I played alot this summer and got better.

I wonder how many come to league for the money? Competition? Or just camaraderie?

"I can see that there is a problem with the pro2 division. Which we all know is essentially just the division for am players to play for cash. But this brings up a good question, how come it is ok for people in age protected divisions to play for cash but not us ams? Because in all reality probably a majority of the old guys playing those age protected divisions are by no means pro players."

And I agree one hundred percent! I do not want funny money! I don't want to sell my merchandise for cash. I want cash!
Response from pro players: Well then move up! Why Masters players don't have to move up. They just need to age. Mind you, I have started playing open in leagues. Now, on the flip side, tourneys are looking worse than ever for AMs: trophy only?!

So, pro 2 brought me out to league all summer. Otherwise, I would not have gone to play for KC cash. Pro 2 offered better competition than AM as well. There are so many players that don't throw 1000 rated rounds week after week, but don't throw 900 rated rounds either.

Pros: Why would I donate just to play up, if I have no chance of winning? (just giving the opposing view.)

I knew I was gonna make make a silly mistake and I did. Ryan, Thank you for finding the air air in my ways.
It reminds me of one of favorite Twainisms:
"It is better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

I can tell you the deadline is not the day of the event.

Thanks Rick. The first link on e-notes is very informative.

One thing that drives me crazy about fonts is this: "Under the Bemoulli Principle, there is then a lower air pressure on top of the frisbee than beneath it. "

So what is the principle? BEMOULLI or BERNOULLI? The latter is correct, but this is exactly why I prefer my students use Times New Roman. Yeah, I am a nerd for words, even their fonts. Also that sentence is a grammarian's nightmare. It reads such that because of the Bernoulli Principle lower air pressure exists. A kind of if so, then  logic is implied here. " According to the Bernoulli Principle"  and lose the "then" would have been a better choice of words. Oh, and air air pressure is not countable so lose the article before lower. Quality of editing is often an indicator or quality of content.

Okay, I am done ranting and nerding out.

Yes, we should all thank Steve Engleman for emptying Down Under. What ton of work! He did it for the reason we all should: because we love the courses.
As a matter of fact, if you see any of the Englemans, say thank you. They have each hepled KC disc golf in their own unique ways.

Thanks to Rick and staff for running this event and doing it well. I love how Rick mixes up the first round cards so new and old players play together. Some other TDs might take a cue on this, or not. Thanks again,

The other great thing about Tuesday at Swope is the non-sanctioned doubles there every Tuesday! Join the double league on that Tuesday. It'd be fun for all, not just the new players.
Good input John T.

I am interested in trading or selling these discs. If you are looking to trade, I am very interested in all Flex plastic, Buzzes, Pro Wraiths, Surge SS, Nuke SS, and old Evolution and $$$ Wizards. If you would like to buy, make an offer. Good deals for multiple discs. Know an organization that can use used discs? I will donate. 816 510 0510.
