Agreed on all points Jamie. MU KU bball is boring. There I said it. Tar and feather me. And yes, I played competitive basketball for 6 years.

Disc golf is my game now. Loomis is moving up. Pete E. will soon as well. I am sure. As far as Mike and Pete, you are correct, but I am gonna guess Pete says he had the most fun.  :)

And, hey, let's not forget Steve Drew,Minna, and Ed G.

also tiger pete engleman disappoints in his final round, drops to T-7, still, he obliterates jayhawk gonzalez in the AGM division. ed should present pete with a big bag of

SAND

You don't know Pete E. then. He never disappoints.  Great shooting Peter!

And can we get a word up for Steve Drew?!
And what about Loomis finishing 16th in a field of over 110?

While Mike T. did rock it, I will also guess that Pete Cashen won as he had the most fun.

P.S. Minna held on to third.

Great showing from the KC crew!

How do I get in on this trivia? Oh and anyone sees any of it, the Euphoria from Ska is way better than Modus. Though, I am drinking a Modus at this very moment.

If we could only get this kind of feedback on say...the mission statement, or Board meeting minutes.

My two cents,

FEAR is used to control human behavior. Some of us promote it and others destroy it by facing it.

Seriously folks, WE are the reasons disc golf parks are safer than those without.

After four rounds of throwing a 150 blizzard wraith, I have noticed a steady fifty foot improvement from the tee. Sometimes longer, some shorter, but east to throw and fairly consistent. This disc is not for big arms though. I am throwing a fan grip with a bit of snap instead of a  tight, fast  power grip.

This technology may help to level the playing field for all but the highest divisions. But again, I do not think these are for power drivers at all. If you grip and rip, this will flip every  time.

All in all, it isn't going to replace my control drivers but it will be in the bag.

No problem on the timing. This is one of the best events all year simply because of the cause. KC metro area can support two events the same day/weekend and especially events like this.
I just checked in w/ my partner and looking forward to this event again.

Word on the street is that David Wiggins tossed a light weight BOSS and a KATANA over 800 feet.

He threw two discs at the same time and they went 800 feet?! Awesome is that even legal?  :)

Joking aside, I picked up one of these blizzard plastiques today and look forward to finessing it into distances yet unknown to me.

Here is a list of everyone who brought Chili. We thank you all. You can tell form the points is was a tight competition. As noted the tie was broken between 16 and 21.

I believe that 21 and 16 were the tying chili's, which was Lee's, and the winner Nick Davis in an official test tasting, where it was determined, that "the flavor, and the aftertaste have that of a thouroughbread Champ, it's your winner, it has a Champion's breed taste."

I believe that the names of the people that supplied the chili will be posted soon.  Remember folks it takes all of the great people in our community to take the time out of their life to make it more enjoyable for us to play.  Seeing 97 non-playing helpers, awesome.  Seeing the people helping, and really supporting the event, and following directions for the chili wait, even better.

My personal favorite though was #18 "Bar Chili" !!  One of the best stories of the Chili contest in Ice Bowl history if I had to say so myself.  Beats any of the concoctions that I have created.......what a hoot!

General Banter / Re: New Dynamic Discs Store

Okay, I couldn't resist and had to weigh in on this.

First and foremost, Arthur's, Gate's, and LC's blow Okey Joe's away. But I'll eat a Carolina or a Z-man in a heart beat.   :)

I gotta agree with Kevin and Cooper, and as a result, I have to agree with Mike and Loomis. Yes, it is capitalism at work. There is a market which I think can support more than one DG store, and so does DD and investors.
Mike and Loomis are correct that any for profit business has a primary goal. Now, I do not agree with the tone of some of the comments (my opinion) as both DG retailers in town are and have been generous and supportive because it just makes sense to perpetuate the business they are involved in. Ultimately, this makes KC even better for disc golfers and the sport over all. True, we may not all agree on how profiteering is done, yet it is a result of the system which makes disc golf possible.

Even with my rational understanding of the system, I do think there is some merit to concerns of a "take over" which we have seen manifested as a shared perception of competition. This competition is not on the retail level but the club level.
Chappy has a point of making sure club events are not crowded out by DGW or DD events, while both support, they do not serve the same purposes, and members would see the difference over time.

Agree? Disagree? All the more reason to weigh in on the club mission statement.

Kelly,
I missed your post earlier, but to answer the club provides cheese, crackers, and usually Fritos as well. However, any food items you would like to contribute are always welcome. Our IceBowl doesn't collect food for a pantry, but instead gives cash to pantries. However, we do collect food to feed hungry disc golfers on what may be a cold day after all. Who knows around here though.

CHILI! CHILI! CHILI! CHILE! CHILLY! CHILI!

I wish Drew had an original design he had drawn. Then it would be the one you drew Drew. Or maybe in random draw doubles one could say they drew Drew. Surely an old joke, I know poorly drawn conclusion.

Back to the topic, Tree Love artwork.
