I went out to Rosedale after work today to practice a little and after talking to some fellow golfers, Bert, Steve Hostetler and crew, I teed off on number one. Big surprise when I see two people off on the right side near the basket. I hit someone. Crap! My first thought was where the hell did they come from. They were looking for a disc that had gone down the hill on the right. It was a couple. The guy was pissed (for good reason). I went up to them and profusely apologized  and explained I did not see them at all and wouldn't have thrown had I known they were there. They were cool about it after that. She even said it was a "frisbee course" and it happens. I explained that no it shouldn't happen.
My point? Don't know that I have one, but I have always been very aware of the dangers of a flying disc. I felt so bad for hitting someone. Of course, it was an accident. But maybe next time on the tee pad, I'll look and look again.

Should be a gorgeous evening to play dubs. Most of the pins are short and with good conditions I 'spect we'll have some low-low scores. 6:00 start.

Just a note to say 'World' match play is kind of like the World's Series. It's only Americans playing!

Good luck to Tank and Hemme regardless!

Dude, I played in this last year? I don't even remember and since I got DFL I can see why I chose to forget. I think I can do better then DFL this year. See you out there Lee. We'll baggin up the AM1 division together.

Trophy only is a load of crap. Sorry as an Am player, I see trophy and think "What the hell am I paying for? A player's pack? Is this some of that "everybody's a winner" crap. Sorry entitlement generation, but it stinks. And it does nothing to promote sportsmanship.

If the 30th Wide Open goes trophy only, I gotta wonder about leadership and where the priorities are.

Ams need to play at least four rounds, too. There is a huge competitive and athletic advantage to the fourth round. If you are out of shape and can't hold it together over four rounds, then you will lose. Please support your Ams all over the world, many of them will be the next Pros.

Hey I got #4 at Old Pike today while warming up for tomorrow.
That's three in the last two months. Let's keep the train going next Saturday at Ace Race!

Well Jack if you are volunteering,  ;).
27 holes. Points are 1,2 or 3. or nada if nothing is hit.
That would be awesome. 100 plus cards should be enough.
Give your creativity a go on it. I would be stoked to see what you create.

Thanks Andy.
So, if I call it and hit metal, then +2. If I call it and hit an ace, then +6. However, on either miss I would be -2.

Also to be clear, the second round option only affects the Metal Muncher Side bet. In other words, who ever wins Ace Race does not necessarily win the side bet and vice versa. SO, if you take the side bet, it is very important to circle your gambles during the second round. We can figure the points with and without the option only if cards are marked correctly (or at least it really helps).

Gonna be fun :)

Bring on the complicated scenarios for Metal Muncher. I have thought of a couple already. We can discuss and resolve on the board and have a complete list the day of.

What if...? and What about when...?

Sep 24th Kansas City Ace Race

Sponsored by the Kansas City Flying Disc Club, Dynamic Discs, Tall Grass Brewing

Rolling start from 8:30 to 10:00

Registration closes at 9:00

Last card must be out by 10:00

Lunch starts at 11:30 (Walking Tacos, venison tacos in a bowl, with all the fixings)

Drinks provided by Tall Grass Brewing

Non-alcoholic drinks also available

Between round games start at 11:30

Ring of Fire, CTP w/ your prototype disc, MTA, and TBA day of events.

We will have CTPs during the round as well (probably for the longer shots).

Second round TBA (approx. 1:00)
(If you have to leave early, you can play both rounds whenever you need to)

Metal Muncher optional side bet (10 bucks cash) w/ 30% final pay out. Any metal above the basket is one point. Aces are three. Leaners, tweeners, and toppers are two points. Don’t worry we will have enough baskets out there for you to hit lots of metal (side by side, stacked and hangers are likely). Second round option: any player in the side bet can call “Metal Muncher” for double points on any hit. However, if nothing is hit the player loses 2 points. Points must be circled on the card, only for the second round to signify + or points. This is a points race after all.

Special thanks to: Peter Engelman, The West Plaza Tomato Company, David Emerson, FLHW and all the volunteers.

Mark your scorecard with a 1, 2 or 3. If nothing is hit, please mark  -
