General Banter / Re: Tell us about the weird disc in your bag!

I don't have any weird disc. They are all awesome and sexy. Yes they are. Some would laugh at my bag of Valks, Beasts, Roadrunners,Wizards, Wraiths, and Eagles,  but hey that damn Coyote never caught that Roadrunner now did he? Beep! Beep! :)

Just getting an idea on how many would be interested in a putting clinic host at California Trail?

Does this mean you want to play golf? Or you want to host a clinic? Are you looking for volunteers or just to play? If it is for the kids, I know some folks who are very interested.

Old Pike has done this for a while. Everyone volunteers for a week to bring food and it happens. When I was going it was really cool. I made a couple of crock pots and they were well recvd. Other folks do brats and chips, etc. Good idea for some courses with grills.

Check the calendar and you'll see Ace Race is Aug 29th. Otherwise, if you would like to run one of the other events the KCFDC would be happy to help out (i.e. provide  funds/resources for such events). There is of course the issue with a full calendar.  :D

There is also that awesome Roc V Buzzz event September 20th. Not manufacturer sponsored, but a "battle of the brands" for sure. Details coming.

The community still makes it happen here.

You would have to double the amounts as it is 10 USD for Open, but this is a start.

You need sandals.....thank god I had sandals.....

Or dress shoes...

Jamie Danger

You have been misinformed. And thanks to Nate Zier we have current agreements with PHill and Liberty. KCMO is on a three year cycle and will be renewed in September. BTW, we pay a percentage of all income recvd on KCMO courses annually. Thanks to mostly Jack the KCFDC has a pretty good relationship with KCMO P&R.

I would ask someone before just assuming what someone told you is true. Believe it or not, our partners read our board.

mjohnson : Actually the KCFDC has a record number of current members 408-ish (though many will expire at the end of the month). And yes, some older members don't renew since they dont like the new leadership or things aren't done the old way or someone's ego wasn't stroked enough. That's cool. No big deal.

I just hear arguments, but no solutions here. I have an idea: run your own events folks. Start planning now because the schedule starts filling at the January meeting.

Per all the "complaining", It costs us nothing to be polite folks. I am guilty of being short with people when I am exhausted, but really just say please and it goes so much further. I suggest Aaron, Derek, and Anthony play a round of golf. I think you all see you are all awesome and genuinely nice folks. The feedback is important as it is how we improve.  I was thinking a rope group at the tee and one at the basket for next year. As much as I want to play in the WO again, I think I will continue to volunteer.

Great weekend, thank you Dick and everyone else. Just more conflicting thoughts for you, I have heard several grand master age people "b%tching", well maybe "complaining" , well maybe just "metioning it", about playing Swope Gold and another course on the same day. I thought that was the best part, that was a awesome day. Thanks again.

I know this is not your complaint Justin. Here's my response. There's a reason everyone got a tag that said athlete. If a player can't handle two tournament rounds in one day, then that is the point. It is a physical and mental game especially when it 90 plus degrees with mid west humidity. Some players did worse the first than second. Some did the opposite. It makes it a better event.

Given the type of courses we have, if we all just played one round a day for a tournament, I wouldn't see it as a challenge.

A million thanks to the players and volunteers.

One little suggestion with doubles at Swope. What about Pro/Am doubles? We used to do this at Rosedale. Sing up either Pro or Am and then have two sets of cards. Pro pull from one and Am from the other. Must match number and suit. Just an idea. Balances the field. Less of a gamble on having CD and Shannon doubled together:)

Thanks for all you do Van!

We can always do better, but this was freaking awesome. A million thanks to all who gave time and energy to this event. It takes a village! I saw our old leader boards today in storage. I think I can use a dry erase to remove the permanent marker and the other one is clean. So remember those for next year.
