Liberty, MO - Stocksdale Park / Bad Rock Creek video footage.
« on: October 23, 2017, 08:24:50 PM »
If you love Stocksdale Park, or if you've never visited and are interested to know what the course looks like, here are some videos that will give you entertaining insight into the course.

The following footage was captured during the Bad Rock Open in October of 2017.  Because of daylight constraints, the course was set up short; challenging, but short.  So keep this in mind when watching the footage.  In the video you'lll notice that the golfers are playing to the blue baskets.  The yellow band baskets you see in the background of each hole is the long setting to the same hole.  I hope you get the information and/or entertainment you are looking for in these videos.

This is footage of the first round.  You can find the second round footage on the same channel.

Beginners / Disc Golf Instructional: Improving your accuracy.
« on: October 11, 2017, 11:54:27 AM »
Hi everyone,

Are you tired of hitting the first tree on the fairway?  Do you shy away from playing wooded courses because you can't seem to get down the fairway?

Check out this video on how to hit gaps and play wooded courses with confidence.

I will be making more videos such as these, so if you enjoy them and learn from them, subscribe to my channel so you can get the lastest editions as soon as they are posted.

I hope your game improves, and if you see me out on the course please do not hesitate to ask me any questions.

Beginners / Disc Golf Instructional: Mid-range practice.
« on: October 11, 2017, 11:48:03 AM »
Hi everyone!  It's a no-brainer that the quickest way to get better at disc golf is to hit the field and practice your shots, but that can get quite boring after a while,
which is why it's so important to make sure you're having fun while you're out on the field.  "FUN" is the reason we opt to play rounds, rather than practice, so why not make practice a bit more fun.

I show you in this video a way to make your path to success a little less boring.

Tournaments / Re: East Vs. West 2016--June 18th and 19th Location TBD
« on: June 20, 2016, 08:42:12 PM »

MO. side contains approximately 4800 square miles, or 61% of the 50 mile radius circle around the metro area.  KS side occupies approximately 3054 square miles, or 39% of the circle.  Gathering as much recent estimates of population as I could, I found that MO side has 832,000 residents plus outlying small towns.  KS side has 767,400 residents plus outlying small towns.  Since MO has over 1 and half times the square mileage, I am sure the total population of outlying towns in MO would easily outpace the numbers in KS.

Given this, my guess is that if the address records for the KCFDC membership were public, one could reveal that more club members reside in MO than KS.

During our last Club Elections there was a map that showed the disc golfer population in our city and it showed beyond a doubt that there are more disc golfers on the West side.  I know someone from the club can produce this map for us here.

My main objection is having Lawrence participate.  No offense to the Lawrentians, I love you guys.

Statistically, west side seems to have an edge winning four consecutive times.I'll do my research to support my theory next.

No need to dig.  I think Jose's point is that west side has a greater number of quality players than east side.  But that's the entire basis of this competition; Which side is better.  Then which side can bring their best game on Challenge weekend.  Jose appears to get bitter in defeat because he is a passionate competitor.

Despite our differences in opinion around the Team Challenge, I personal enjoy seeing Jose's name consistently high up in tourney results against the best in country. And now with the Challenge over, I can go back to rooting for him again.

Tracy, my opinions on this subject in no way shape my personal opinions of you, which are that you are an ambassador to the sport and someone our community should have more of, I want you to know that.  Thank you for your words.

What difference does it make?

"your" trophy guy.  Have him change it.  You give it to me and I'll make your plaques have asterisks on them.

But for real, move our plaque back to the front of the trophy.  That's a sheisty move.

Well, congratulations to Twin Cities on their "Kansas City" Challenge victory.  You played very well and overcame a deficit after two rounds to clinch a win by slaughtering our geographically and disc golfer population statistically inferior team.  We gave your Samsonite squad all we could muster but in the end you outperformed our very capable and highly skilled team.  Kudos.

After four losses in a row I especially agree that our First Place plaque should have been moved off to the side of the trophy.  Why tarnish such a beauty with that blemish.

Sarcasm aside, I love all you guys that were out there today.  I play with each and every one of you, on both sides, all year and you push me to be better.  I'm very happy for all your effort and for the heart you put into each and every shot.  It's an honor to compete with you and against you.  Until next year!

Why in the world is the round at 1:00?

Jesus Christ, why in the world is it at 1:00?  And why are we catering to the West?  They already have two cities in this sh1t.
