Tournaments / Re: Old Settlers Open 2013 - August 31st

I do enjoy playing Birdland, only thing I really don't like are the handful of tweener holes out there. Need to shorten a few or stretch them out another hundred feet and call them par 4's. Hole 1 is a great opening hole!

I agree.  If it's not a birdie hole, it's an easy three.  It doesn't leave you much to work with if you're trying to make up strokes on someone.  I love playing the course, but the tweener holes make it an upshot contest.

Loved the tournament and had a blast playing it!  Unfortunately for me, two holes did me in.  Two holes out of 36.  Ouch.

Observation:   I didn't see the tournament on PDGA.com

I'm playing.

As for the guys not playing because it's too hot ... you are so unbelievably lame.

The guy in the video has no follow through and the video is not an entertaining way to learn how to play.

Best bet is to go to youtube, type in PDGA, and press enter.  Watch these videos.  These are the world's best.

Enjoy.

General Banter / Smithville 8/25/13
« on: August 24, 2013, 03:25:46 PM »
I'm going to be out at Smithville from 11 a.m. until dark tomorrow.  I've contacted many disc golfers in the area to go out there and several have expressed interest.  I'm widening the scope of my search for golfers by bringing it up on the forum.  Let's get a big group out there and have a blast.  We can play a couple of rounds for fun or for casheesh.  Bring your swimming shorts too, it's gonna be hot and that lake is fun.

See ya out there!

Well hell, I really want to play there tomorrow.  I'd say I can run it but I am the furthest living participant of this league.

Congrats to Marc Wisbey for his sweet ace on hole 9 at Prairie Center today at noon.  Slammed in perfectly with a low, dead center pole clean hit.

Awesome!

I've never attended Friday traveling league and am planning to attend this one.  I'm pulling for PC since I haven't played the full course yet.  That or Burrdland.

That is beautiful Mike!!!!

That's what I'd like to see circulating around.  Nothing over the areas we use to write.  Perfect.  Classy.

General Banter / KCFDC Scorecards are too artsy.
« on: August 14, 2013, 09:31:04 AM »
I'd like to suggest removing the KCFDC logo from the center of the scorecards.  The website is printed at the bottom of the card already, so there is no need for the logo.

The logo makes it hard to read scores.  Not all of our pencils are dark and/or sharp, so when they write grey, it makes it hard to read the scores written over the logo.

I was told that the recent scorecards had the logo come out darker than intended.  My opinion is that the logo itself is not necessary.

Less is more.   Thanks!

Might as well just chalk it up to a non-PDGA league.
