Found and Lost / LOST Yellow Star Sidewinder at Young
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:44:20 PM »
Just carried left into the lake on Hole 7. I saw it really close to the edge of the water, but after failures to retrieve it with a stick, the water was too murky to see it anymore.

Was curious if anyone was planning on fishing the lake before the WO? Or hoping someone will see it right by the edge.

Played Rosedale today to see mostly deep pin settings, including Holes #4, #8, and #17 at their "Par 4" locations. I was told that this was the setting that will be up for the next few weeks, including the KCWO.

Shawnee Mission / 2012 League!
« on: March 20, 2012, 07:02:25 PM »
Starting in April we'll be back to playing league at Shawnee Mission Park! We'll be playing back on Tuesdays again, so our first day will be April 3rd

I'm brand new as Course Coordinator, but I was told that I may be able to get keys to move baskets. I don't know whether that's true or not, but if it is I hope to be able to move a few baskets. I know they've been in their same spots for almost a year now, so I think we could do with moving a handful of them. I know Shawnee Mission is often played by families and beginners, so we can't move anything too deep. But we'll see what we can do.

Do you guys think we'll able to start at 6? Or should we go for 5:30 the first few weeks? If we were playing right now I think 5:30 would be necessary but we've still got a couple of weeks so the sunset is only gonna get later and later.

Thoughts? I hope to see all of you out there!

Shawnee Mission / Large Tree Removed on #9
« on: January 28, 2012, 05:53:33 PM »
Played a round in the nice weather today, only to see this on hole #9-

So that's the main guardian tree, just completely gone. I don't suppose it changes how the hole is played, but it definitely makes it easier.

Found and Lost / FOUND: Pearly 2x Champ Beast at Shawnee Mission
« on: December 27, 2011, 03:22:09 PM »
Found sitting on top of #14's basket on Christmas day. Stamp is gone, either from wear or acetone'd off on purpose.

No name, phone number, or any other markings on it. If you can tell me what color it is, I'll believe you that it's yours.

Shawnee Mission / Winter Pin Switch?
« on: November 13, 2011, 11:54:17 PM »
I know we talk about this every time we play but I think winter would be a great time to move some baskets back to original/longer positions. There will be less beginners out because of the weather, so I think moving to some longer baskets would be less of a deterrent for that crowd.

Conversely, it will be cold and playing a shorter course will be easier on us.

Just throwing it out there if we could figure something out about getting the keys.

Tournaments / Blue Bird Series Regional at Legacy?
« on: September 15, 2011, 10:07:07 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the supposed 'Regional Championship' that the wesbite says is supposed to be this Saturday at Legacy?

They don't have any specific info on the website, and I had been waiting for something to be posted but was running out of time.

I guess if no info about this surfaces I'll just play Tree Love :p
