What's the story? Play cut short by weather?  Or just too sloppy?

Had to delay a couple of times because of lightning, just eventually got to the point where we wouldn't have been able to finish by dark.

Kind of surprise there isn't more discussion / sign ups for this.
I'm really looking forward to it.

Like I said, I'm planning on playing; but to be honest I'm kind of waiting to see how the weather is. I assume it will have warmed up a lot by then, but maybe not.

The course is usually set really short for CC.

It's one round up top and one round down under.

I don't see why people are so pissed on DGCR about it being trophy-only.

I guess the more important question is... are ribbons illegal?

My guess would be yes, just like taped on lights are illegal.

Hopefully the snow will melt enough we won't need ribbons.

I'm gonna have to check the PDGA list of approved footwear.

Is the course layout for this decided yet?

The ratings are inflated because of the the courses they play. Both Vista Del Camino and Fountain Hills are easy for the top pros, yet really difficult for the rest of the field.

The amount of OB at both courses punishes the bad shots that lesser players make, while the top 10 or so players rarely throw OB.

So the scoring deviation is higher than it would normally be at another course.

You're exactly right, which is why it's more of a loophole than strict rules.

Because you're right, I could take a stance in a corner like that without standing OB, but a player might use that rule to their advantage to get closer to the basket.

I think the perpendicular illustration was to try to clarify a question raised on irregular OB.  Example would be the OB is a right angle and the disc lands off center on the corner in bounds.

It's not perpendicular from that line as a whole, but perpendicular from any one point on that line.

I made a terrible graphic to illustrate this-

Further, there are odd loopholes in taking your one meter in a "corner", as it were.  Like this-

I believe that this was the case on Hole #17 at Swope Gold at this years KCWO. Where in that corner, taking 1 meter of relief would bring a player closer to the other part of OB. So instead of taking 1 meter from where the disc went out (deep in the corner), a player would take 1 meter of relief from any OB, which would ultimately bring that player more like 2-3 meters from where they initially went OB.
