would the public notice the difference between full time pro and part time pro? I doubt it.
But It would be a step in the right direction...
Look I've been reading, and not really responding, since this thread started and I think there has been some really good points made and some, well lets just say, adding to the problem instead of the solution...
One really good point was, which has been discussed for a few years to no avail, is having to earn your way into the pro ranks, instead of just paying a higher entry fee. I have been traveling and playing this sport as my primary income for almost 3 full years, Not one year did I make more than 10k in pdga recordable winnings, but I have been able to subsidize my life and expenses. I get limited help from my sponsors, and by limited I mean, they do what they can and I appreciate everything they do, but by no means am I getting ahead.
I know, this is my decision and I reap the benefits AND shortcomings, but it is time for a better step in the proper direction. We have talked about forming a "Players Union" for the past couple years, but progress is slow.
I listened on speaker phone, to a conference call with the BOD, and the issues they want to discuss and what they think is important, well let me say this in the best way possible, COMPLETE BS!!!!
Soon, very soon there will be changes. We already have one "Tour Player" on the BOD, but very soon, we'll have 3, and Sh!T will start getting done!!!!!!
1 dollar from every entry fee, is that really to much to ask? I look at it like this, Everyone wants to give me a hard time about not paying my $20 and joining the club and paying my extra buck everynight at leagues, but when the year ends and I've played 60-70 leagues, I will have paid into the club the same as 3 members COMBINED...
This is my way of proving how little one dollar makes in the grand scheme of things makes in the beginning, but how HUGE it will be over time!
Alot of great thoughts on here, Keep it going guys!
Thanks for starting this thread Lack Jowe!
