I wanted to write a novel in response. This is what I ended up saying:
I'm an advocate for parks and a board member of the Kansas City Flying Disc Club. Disc Golf is one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the country and beginning to be taught as a Lifetime Sports Activity through Physical Education classes. This sport fits more in line with your mission statement of "clean and healthy environment for people of all ages, with a continuing focus on disadvantaged youth" than zip lines. Zip lines require specific physical requirements and is a cost prohibitive activity, much more so than disc golf. The rationale behind this decision is flawed and shows a true misunderstanding of the sport, its cost, and the ability of individuals of all physical capacities to participate.
