General Banter / Re: Forum Access
« on: July 16, 2015, 11:40:32 am »
There are a few limitations. If we continue to use Simple Machines Forum, there isn't a good way to tie in the forum user database to our club members database. That would mean someone, or some team, would have to manually update permissions for a forum username in order to provide them access to the members section.

We would then need to decide how restricted the forums would become. Will non-members be able to view only? will they be able to private message? Would certain parts of the forum be open to all? --- e.g. lost and found, tournaments?

The few issues I see are the non-members who are genuinely looking to post questions/feedback will not be able to do so in important forums such as Tournaments, Lost and Found, Beginners, etc.

There's a reason why this idea has been kicked around for a while now; it's difficult, and IMO, a lot of legwork on the tech side.

just some thoughts~

Check the link for the Cass County Fair's website on that page, Steeler.

For the folks that don't like to look for themselves,

I'm telling you Utz, he isn't trolling.

I'm telling you Palmer, I'm trolling. Set me a reminder to kick you in the nards next time I see you, which would be NEVER, since you don't play Golf anymore..

So freaking what? I'll tell you what. I have as much of a right to post as he does; with his incessant rambling, and interesting views of Disc Golf. He is blatantly trolling most of the time. Half of it is unreadable, even that's okay. HOWEVER, you can't post that malarkey without expecting some feedback. This forum feasts on shenanigans like that. The internet has spoken. We will keep fighting until his cell plan runs out of data. until then ...

I witnessed the national anthem played at Sharks in the Water. Crazy John played trumpet. I thought it was a nice touch and have asked several times why not play it.

That WAS pretty cool. Honestly, he could of played any song and I would of loved it.

And I really do not understand the rating system.

Well, no one really does :D but you can read on it here:

So Wyco is not a PDGA league on fridays?

Nope. There are 2 PDGA Leagues.
You can catch up on Rob Martin's Meandering Monday PDGA League here:
