Am payouts get kids into the stores. it's a Racket basically. The Amateur system is broken BAD in the PDGA. I'm currently at a point that I don't even want to play tournaments given my grey area between AM1 and Pro. I want to compete for cash in some tournaments, then others, with multiple 1000+ players, I would like to play AM. You're right Tracy. I just want to be able to compete with players that match my skill level.

Oh Nova, you're still new. The novelty hasn't worn off yet  ;D You're still in what I call, "The Honeymoon Phase"

The best players racket

* The buzz of excitement one feels at entering such a large and prestigious tournament.
"God why does parking suck so bad, I'm on the waiting list and the tee times are SO EARLY"
* The big crowds at the event.
"Why are there so many people here, I'm just trying to play Golf."
* Knowing that the best pros are in town to do the exact same thing as I am. (Well, except they throw half as many times as I do.)
"My favorite pro isn't in town cause it's only an A-tier"
* Getting to watching the final 9 on Sunday afternoon, because B tier ends Sunday morning.
"Until it's weather delayed and you miss the final 9"
* Seeing all the vendor and promotional booths.
"Why can't I use my AM cash for buying a new Grip bag... and why does this vendor only sell European discs?"
* Playing on courses that are much more groomed (and a hell of a lot harder) than usual, with painted markings, OB ropes, fresh mulch around the tees, and so on.
"That damn OB!"
* The smiles on the faces of all the people having so much fun.
"I work in back, I see no smiles"
* Becoming a part of the shared memory of a great event.
"Memories of Sun Burn and missed putts, more like it"

Ever thought about recording the players meeting, and putting the audio online? Easier for you, and everyone involved. The most important part, however, it won't kill WW league attendance. :D

Whatever type of rope means nothing to those that have never played the Swope Gold layout. Just sayin. I hope to play or walk it during Thursday afternoon/evening before the tournament. Sounds like fun no matter what kind of rope is used!  :o  ;D

Well, it will mean something to you. Once you're done with Swope Gold, then you go to play a regular paint and flag OB tourney. You'll know!

The KC Wide Open always brings a bevvy of amateurs to the table. Playing AM1 (Advanced) is usually difficult in the KCWO. The top of the AM1 pool are folks that could probably play Open, and are good competitive players. You will have a great time playing AM2 (Intermediate). Saving money, enjoying yourself, all the while playing amazing courses in a world-class tournament. Push yourself to get a win (if that's your bag) and set your expectations high ( again, if competition is what you're into) and you'll be fine. You'll find a few "just casual" players playing AM2, mostly you'll find good competition; according to your scores at Rosie.
