Tournaments / Re: East vs West Team Championship
« on: June 11, 2012, 12:39:31 am »
I'm sure this is still tentative, but we should know the locked in schedule after Wednesday.

To keep things centralized, the event will be held at WaterWorks and Rosedale.  Saturday Sept. 8th, will be the two rounds of doubles matches at WW, Sunday Sept. 9th, morning will be the round of singles matches at Rosedale.  Spots on the roster will be up for grabs during qualifiers in August. For the West team, qualifying events will be at Rosedale league on Aug 8th and Prairie Center league on Aug 20th.  For the East team, qualifiers will be at Waterworks on Aug 16th and Swope league on Aug. 28th.  If any of them happen to be rained out, we'll postpone 'til the next league at that location.  Once I have Captains on board, I'll post details about how many spots will be available at each of the qualifiers.

We'll start promoting this event in June, once the XXXth KCWO has wound down.

note: changed qualifier dates. They may (will likely) change again based on Captains availability to help.

I'm stoked. I've got some tournament match play under my belt too! Certainly a different strategy and feel to the game when you're throwing for Match Play. lets go big easy East Siders! "The Dukes of Hyzer"

Back again for more exciting action at Old Pike Country Club. I hope everyone is recovering from the Wide Open and its festivities! We had 23 Golfers out on a great evening with temperatures in the 80's with little wind. Mike T was gone for this one so Kevin, Ted and myself formed a trifecta of league running to keep things rolling smoothly. Thanks guys!

Ace fund: $206
No Ace this week, so the Ace fund keeps climbing. Jeff Davis was almost last to throw and broke everyone's hearts with his $10 winner for CTP. BJ had a 'walk-it-off' to take $5

Not sure. He was pissed during the round, then we saw him walking off the course, and a threesome playing on. PDGA website gave him a big DNF on little blue.

I'm trying to find this out too. The Rule is slightly ambiguous. From 3.04 Dress Code:

D. The following dress code for all competitors will be enforced at all PDGA Elite Series/National Tour and Major Events. The PDGA also recommends that this dress code be enforced at Super Tour and lower tier events, but this decision lies solely with the Tournament Director:

(1) All players in PDGA sanctioned competition and tournament staff are expected to dress appropriately and to maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance at all event sites and associated functions.

(2) All players must wear a shirt covering their upper chest area. A well-tailored shirt with a fold-down, mock turtle, v-neck, crew neck, Henley, or zippered collar, and with sleeves covering the part of the arm from the shoulder to the elbow (commonly known as the upper arm), shall be considered acceptable.

So, since this is a NT 'event' is the A-Tier a Major Event as well?
