And, by the way, Rob and I like each other.

I like you too Crispian.  You're fun.  And nice.  And I want your Grip EQ bag.  That is all.

Water Works / Re: Thank You!!

I just want to say thank you to all of you who have gone out and are going out to waterworks today to clean up after the big storms!!! We lucked out in Olathe, I think. I only saw one major issue--a downed lightpole a mile or so from my house. Thanks again!!

Second best post I've read this evening.

Anthony, thanks for sharing your thoughts.  Too many people think because they are volunteering, it puts them above reproach.  I read your post as entirely constructive and appreciate the feedback.  I have no doubt that we could have been better prepared for the vast array of disc golf knowledge present in the crowd.  Anyone wishing to critique my efforts that weekend, feel free.  There's nothing thin about me.  :-)

Best post I've read all night.

Sorry Nova, it won't be able to do that this year.  Hopefully we can try that next year.  Both DDKC and Maverick DG opens up divisions for two or even one lady, but we can't do that this year for this tournament.  Thanks for understanding.

This is going to be a really fun tournament.  The format of Match Play vs. Raw Score is a very different mindset.  Match Play rewards the more aggressive player who is behind, and the analytical player that is ahead.

There used to be a tournament called Players Cup.  It originated in Florida, then moved to Texas when Vibram and Disc Nation picked up the sponsorship.  I believe both Loomis and Cooper Arnold have played in it before.

Two divisions.  Pro and Am.  As this is not PDGA sanctioned, Ams can play in Pro and receive cash without affecting their amateur status.

Payouts are listed above in thread.  Pros pays Cash.  Ams pays merchandise at Dynamic Discs store in Kansas City.

It would be very helpfult to pre-register.  Field is limited to 32 players for each division.

Register at:

Nova, your frustration is completely warranted.

For the second week in a row that we finished the PDGA Meandering Monday round (one week in between didn't post due to weather) we had an Ace.

James Thompson first ace ever! Hole 5 BV Short Course, 172 feet.

$252 current Ace Fund with this week's entries.

$126 available, $20 for 2016 club dues -> $106 to James Thompson, or $0.616 per foot.

(Checked the math, Scott Reek's ace two weeks ago was $0.784 a foot.).

This past weekend at the Kansas City Wide Open, I had a bunch of people asking me what the next Maverick tournaments will be.

The next one is Matchboxx 64 that I'm hosting and DDKC is doing payouts.  It is on Sunday, August 30th, I'll start pushing this in a couple of weeks.

One that I'm currently working on is October 10th - Wrangle in the Woods presented by Hyzerbomb Discs.  It will be at Longview DGC at Perry Lake.  Really stoked about this as it will be Maverick's first B-Tier.  The plan is to do 2 rounds of medium length placements on Saturday.  Sunday will be an optional 1-round C-tier with everything set to max length.

I'm in the beginning stages for something September 12th - I'll post more when the details are a little more firm.

Meanwhile, for the currently scheduled tournaments, go to the Events tab on the facebook page:

Loved having lunch during the rounds and beer on Sunday vs. Player Party Saturday night.  This was the best improvement.

Swope Gold plus a second round on any day is a bit much.  Probably pretty tough though scheduling Swope so all pools can play it.

As a masters age player, I don't necessarily feel like I need to watch a masters age final 9.  I'm sure there would be opinions on both sides of this.

Yes, kudos!
