If it wasn't random, then it would be seeded such that the #1 rated player would be paired up with the #36 rated player.  As this isn't a PDGA event, if a player didn't have a rating determining seeds would be next to impossible and open up for a lot of lively discussion.

So, this year we are going with a random format.  With the payout table, you could potentially get last on your card first round, but if you placed first on your second round (with other last place first rounders), you would still get some payout.

(See Round Place Pattern).

This is a new format of tournament play that we don't see very often.  Admittedly, players that are mid-Intermediate and higher for Ams would place better.  Advanced players can play in Open and not jeopardize their Am Status as this is non-sanctioned.

I thought there were already 2 leagues at Rosedale on Mondays - ladies and beginners.  As it is the ladies only, I think we can coexist on the same course for one night.

For those that have been DU in the last 48 hours, do you recommend we move to Up Top for PDGA league tonight due to muddy conditions?

yeah, I was afraid of that.  I'm concerned though that if we try to change locations now there will be a big huge confusing mess as to which course we are moving to.  I guess we can discuss with those that do show up about playing up top instead.

Tentative payouts based on full registration. Pro pays cash, Am pays store credit at Dynamic Discs - Kansas City. Thanks DDKC for the added cash to pros and ams!

Of course, if it doesn't fill then payouts will be adjusted.

You had me until that part about randomly assigning cards. I totally DO NOT have a problem playing against men, but am's go up to 985. Bring randomly matched up against someone rated 100-200 points higher than me wouldn't be fun. It's your tournament, and you totally run it however you want to run it. I just wanted to explain why I can't play, since I know you want to see an increase in your women competitor numbers. I don't want you (or all the other men who plan tournaments) to think it's simply a lack of interest.

Amy I understand.  This is a very new format.  If it goes well, maybe we can try a women division next year.  Meanwhile, both DDKC and Maverick Disc Golf have lots of other tournaments with divisions for all ages, genders, and playing ability.

ah, you guys...

Tick Flick - it's a great name!  lol....

OK, so here's the deal.  Gregg Justus is a really cool guy and him and his wife run Carolyn's Natural Soap.  One of their product's is Dirty Water Bug Repellent.  It's all natural and has no DEET in it (i.e. all natural because DEET is not natural).

Anyway, Gregg has been a HUGE reason why McLouth, a town of a whoping 880 people even have a disc golf course.  Yes, 880, as in my high school was bigger than this town is.  Scott Reek designed the first 9 holes.  They recently (not sure if Scott was involved in the 2nd 9) added the back 9.

Gregg wanted to get a DG tournament on his course.  So, I'm helping him out.  They are giving away small bottles of this repellent to each player.

I'm currently working on the flyer, but this will be the fee schedule:

All Pro div.      $32
All Advanced div.   $20
All Intermediate      $20
All Recreational      $20
Juniors 14-19      $17
Juniors 13 & Under   $15

Rec on down will be player's pack.  PP will be a merchandise credit towards anything.

Rec will get $20 credit voucher

Juniors $15 credit voucher, $2 goes towards fees I have to pay.  The young jrs, 13 & under I'm covering the fees because I want kids to get into DG.

Int. & Adv, no player pack, $20 towards payout

Pro divisions, $30 towards payout, $2 towards fees.

Ace fund - new format idea.  I'm calling it $3-2-5.  You pay in $3, I add $2, payout will be $5 credit per person that pays in.

30 people pay into ace - $90

I add $60

Ace will net a $150 credit towards merchandise including baskets, bags, etc. that I can order.

No Ace?  We'll do a throw off by grouping of divisions.  All Rec and Juniors together.  All Int and Adv together.  All Pro together.

Additional payout and players pack will depend on division.

All pro divisions pay cash, All Advanced and Intermediate divisions will pay out merchandise credit for placement (no additional player pack), all Recreational and Junior divisions will receive a merchandise voucher and no additional payout.

 All Pro div. $32
 All Advanced div. $20
 All Intermediate $20
 All Recreational $20
 Juniors 14-19 $17
 Juniors 13 & Under $15

$3-2-5 Ace Pool:

You pay $3, I add $2, payout is $5 merchandise credit per person that pays in. Ex: 30 pay into ace - $90. I add $60. Ace will net a $150 credit towards merchandise including discs, shirts, baskets, bags, etc. that I have in stock or can order.

If no ace is hit, we will have a throw off based on a grouping of divisions.  All Pro divisions together; All Advanced and Intermediate together; All Recreational and Junior divisions together (tentative - may be adjusted based on divisions with paid ace pool members)

(The background photo is actually a hole that you pretty much need to flick a shot for a RH player.)
