I work 9-4. I would prefer to not play that day as my wife has the whole day off as well.

I finally got all 3 smithville courses in this past weekend. and Dang they are fun. We started on white thinking it was gonna be a nice warm-up. this course was tougher than just warming up. Then we played woodhenge. Yep this course is ligit. I think the course par was 63 and it was the whole 63. Great course really loved 16 and 18 use of lake. We did not get to play hole 13 there were beach goers on the last half of fairway. and hole 15 wow. what a par 5. such cool hole. We then took a break and went to country mart and got $4 sandwiches ate inside and went back for blackthorne. I enjoyed a lot of blackthorne especially since brad and i both deuced hole 1. the woods portion was fun hole 15 was amazing loved wooded doglegs. Some of the woods rollers where statistically most likely to progress down fairway. Hole 12-15 were great. I loved hole 14 so beautiful cut fairway mimics a nice hyzerflip, easy for disc golfer to appreciate.

It was a windy night at Young and probably everywhere. But we did have a good night. 17 golfers out. Best shot I saw was Tony's shot on 18. 18 was long and Tony's flex drive put him past the short placement with about 160ft left of the whole, he lined up and threw a bullet. Out of hand you knew he threw it to make and sure enough splash right into the chains. Amazing deuce on hole 18. Also, cute moment of the day. On the 16th tee, a couple of bunnies were hanging out. As we came the older probably mom bunny ran off. but the younger bunny hung around we approached to about 6 ft but no further because the thing was so darn cute. We watched him eat clover leaves like there was no tomorrow and he looked at us but with no concern.

Back to Golf. There was a play off for 1st in the Open division. Playing from 1s short pad to 11 right position. Clenching the win with a tough 23ft putt Adam took it. CTP was on hole 17 short. Adam took home a new FLX/Esp Surge. YAY!!

CDGC is gearing up for our biggest event of every year, the Mid-America Open Disc Golf Tournament. The 28th Annual MAO will be on July 7-8, 2012 and features 4 rounds of golf on 3 courses with a killer players' party on Saturday evening.

The weekend kicks off with a doubles tournament on Friday, July 6th. Bring our own partner and play a best shot scramble round on the Oakland back course followed by an alternate shot round on the Oakland top course.

We still do on-site registration from noon to 11 p.m on Friday, and Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Oakland Park.

If possible, please pre-register one of the following ways.
Register online at or at (Vendors will add a small fee for online registration)
Download a registration form, fill it out, and send it to us with your check or money order.
And remember, at the Mid-Am Women Play for Half Price!

If you pre-register, please be sure to check in at Oakland Park Friday afternoon or Saturday morning to make sure your division made, to let the TDs know you arrived so your name gets on a card, and to pick up your player's package (amateurs) and peruse the tournament stamped merchandise we'll have available.

Here's a quick run-down of our schedule.

We'll feed you (pulled pork with all the trimmings), draw you a cold beer or drink, and then give you a chance to play some more fun golf games. We have a great ring of fire with lottsa prizes, a mini golf tournament (for a nice mini basket), and of course, the CTP for a basket competition.

Our payouts are generous, our TDs are friendly, and our courses are fun to play! Come to Columbia for a great time with good people.

Hope to see you soon.

Beautiful night at Wilbur Young. 15 golfers came out to play. Brad Phelps was a first timer and glad to have him. The course was still set up in KCWO set up. Nice shot Jordan Hinck on hole 13. His drive came up short left and he forehanded a putter about 150ft around the corner and in for a great deuce. Jordan and Slim tied after 18 holes and they played off from 1's short teepad to 11's basket. Jordan took the first playoff hole. Bill took the CTP on hole 5, he was 6 feet right of the pin, nice shot and he gets his very own Discraft Glide thankds to DD.
