Legacy Park - Lee's Summit / Re: LEGACY MINI 6/21 ***FIELD TRIP***

It would be fun if people actually showed up at all. The 2 nights I ran league we had 6 people, 2 of them wanted to play am but didn't have a third to open the division so they played open to "donate" and have a good time. Meanwhile, I believe there were at least a dozen people playing on the course that would've thrown $7 down last year for random draw dubs that didn't want to play for KC Kash.  Personally, I don't really think the pay structure of KCFDC league is a real money maker so I mostly attend to have a good time and get some practice doing it.  I'd even entertain the idea of playing doubles if enough people showed up, but I don't think there's a payout structure setup with club for that. If you want to play doubles in the summer, they play every Sunday at 12:30 at Phill.

You're the one running the league so I say do it how you want to. I am just stating what I hear from many of Legacy Patrons. I would think more people = more payout even if it was doubles.

Any chance of doubles coming back to Friday nights?

I play Legacy a LOT & have gotten to know many of the casuals/semi serious players out there. All I here is complaints about this years league & how they don't like it. I think some of their complaints are a little harsh & unwarranted but Fri nights at Legacy sure hasn't been what it used to be.

I don't mind singles at all but I do also enjoy doubles too. My honest opinion is that half of the players complaining about singles just don't want to donate. The other half really enjoyed getting the chance watch & learn from the better players.

I'll trust if you say it's yours it's yours. I found a 1st run Discraft something (looks like a nuke) last night at Swope. Has a weird tribal dye on it, no info on it. Let me know if you know who's it is.

Woooooooo got my first ACE today. Took my boss for his first ever round of disc golf. Went to Blue Valley on the KS side. Hole 2 I threw a MVP axis eclipse, nothing but chains. Vince Holzer witnessed it.

Nice job Aaron !!

Tues night I picked up at least 8-10 cans/bottles & still missed 3 birdie putts. One day the karma will show up. The tues night company was enjoyed by all except maybe for Casey, his ass was a lil sore from Louie

Scott did call me this afternoon & advised they should of mowed it yesterday. When I told him they didn't he said it should be today then. He said they should be mowing the fairways every 2 weeks & was aware they didn't do a very good job last time.  Hopefully this keeps them on top of things but the feeling I got is its just not important to them.

Legacy Park - Lee's Summit / Grass Problem
« on: May 13, 2013, 11:07:19 pm »
So Legacy Park has really been falling behind on mowing the grass. I believe they mowed the course for the first time 2 weeks ago. The rough is 2'-3' tall & the fairways are 1'-3' tall.  They mow some fairways only 20' wide (Hole#5,7,8) . Even if you keep it in the fairways you are still looking for 5-10 min to find your disc & you saw where it went. I saw the lawn company that mows Legacy out there tonight but they only mowed the edge of the walking paths, shelter houses, & playground areas. Lastly on hole 17 I dang near stepped on a snake walking through 3' grass in the fairway. I don't think keeping the grass cut will make snakes go away but at least i would  have a chance of seeing it before i put my hand down to pick up a disc & get bit or something.

My question is does the Club have any pull or weight to say WTH. It was really annoying the whole round having to search for your disc after throw but seeing that snake made me think it is really a pretty big safety risk too.

New bag takes 2 strokes off your game . I actually was doing some stretches before I started & successfully did 2 back bends . First time I ever attempted them! Just getting better with age.
