For this event there is a $2 Ace Fund.  For my events I usually include it in the entry but since this is a fundraiser for the trees, we added it as a seperate addition

Tournament Central will be at Prairie Center, regardless of where you might be starting

Online registration is up and you can also register at Dynamic Discs Kansas City

Thanks Tom for getting the courses ready.  The Old Settlers Open is just two weeks away and we are getting some registrations come in.  This event has the ability to hold 2 Pools, but pre registration will determine how many people we use.  Please pre register if you are planning on coming so we can make the appropriate plans for the pool assignments.

I am going to ask to keep groups to no more than 6.

There is no online registration as of now.  You can call 913-403-0710 and we can process over the phone if needed.

The Discraft Ace Race is one month away and we want to break the 300 mark this year.  Last year we had the largest ace race in the country and this year we want to set a record.  This year the KCFDC is going to step it up and we are going to make this event even bigger, more fun and more prizes.  Help us out by pre registering so you dont miss out and we can make sure we order enough players packs for all to play.

A lot of work was completed at Heritage yesterday thanks to the parks department and there heavy machinery.  All 18 holes have been cut to some degree, that is not saying that all 18 are playable, but you can see the definition of the shot design.  We still have a lot of cleaning and cutting to do.

August is going to be touch for me as a I am gone most of it, but I will be working here and there.  I will be organizing some work days in september so we can get the remaining parts cut out and cleaned

The smoking ban was handed down from DD.

DD had NO knowledge of the smoking rule given until well after it was being told.

The Discraft Ace Race will once again happen in Kansas City at Swope Park on September 14th, 2014.  You will play two rounds of this Ace Race friendly course and it is a flex start from 9 until 4 (your second round has to be started no later than 4pm).  The cost is $25 (optional $5 Ace Pool) and you get two prototype discs and some swag from the picture below.  There will be some other side games taking place, including a chance to win a Discraft Chainstar.

More Information to come.  You can register at Dynamic Discs Kansas or Disc Golf World

I want to take this time to thank everyone who was a part of the 2014 Midwest Amateur Championships.  Overall I think it was very successful and as always, I walked away from the event with notes that I am already looking at for the future events.  There were a lot of people who made this possible and i truly appreciate all of them.  If anyone has  suggestion on how to improve the event, please PM or email me at, I cant make it better if i don't know that it is a problem.

This was a first for me running tee times and the flip flop format (not sure that is what it is called, but it sounds catchy) and i did like both very much, i aleady know of a few tweaks for next year to make it run even smoother.

Waterworks is on time and Rosedale is catching up.  Make sure you are at the course for your scheduled tee time

Tee Times are posted and correct on
