Old Pike / Re: Members? Pay to play? Donation box?
« on: July 14, 2015, 02:56:47 pm »
You can purchase a yearly membership for $50/yr.  The easiest way to do this is to attend random draw doubles on a Tuesday night.  Mike T. can help you obtain the membership.

Additionally, there is a donation box on site where $5/rd. is the suggested donation.

I was out there playing Saturday morning. I played Big Blue 1-16.  There are some limbs down, but I wouldn't call it unplayable.  The teepad/sign on #6 were covered by a downed tree and the green on #11 was pretty swampy.  Other than that, it wasn't too bad.

Regarding the firewood, I have no idea if it is actually legal to take or not (doubt it), but I did see someone cutting up limbs and loading them up in their truck.  They didn't seem to have any affiliation with the club or the parks department.  I'd say go for it.  There's plenty to choose from.

That's great!  Can you just drop it in the bin?  I won't be able to make it out there today.

I'll track you down one of these days and provide you with a cold refreshment.   ;D

Bag Tags / Re: 2015 Bag Tags
« on: April 06, 2015, 03:15:00 pm »
What do I have to do to get a bag tag now that we're on the 4th month of the year?  I have never done this in KC before (only in CoMo during college) but want to start getting more competitive!

I plan on starting up at league nights, but want to jump on the bag tag game as well!

You'll need to go to Disc Golf World or Dynamic Discs and join the club for $20 and pay an extra $5 for the club tag.  DD has their own tag as well that you can buy from them for another $5.

Blind Rob hit an ace on #17 at Old Pike league last night.  I'm not sure what the exact payout was, but I think he's getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $300.

I don't think he saw it go in.

Another feature is that there are multiple baskets on many holes.  So you may have a pyramid of 3 or more baskets to throw at on one hole.

Good times, great cause!  Playing a singles event from the long tees at Thornfield was a lot of fun.  Here's the list of winners:

Experienced division: Connor Mitts, Bobby Domsch, Dan Cashen
Beginner division: Nicholas Werner, Steve Channell, Chris Graczyk

I think the top scores in the "experienced" division were 64, 65, 67.

I've heard Beaver Ranch/Conifer is awesome.  I haven't made it there yet though...

I've played a few courses near RMNP.  Which side of the park are you going to? Estes or Grand Lake?  If you're going to Grand lake, you'll drive right by Winter Park, which has a really nice course.   There's also other stuff to do there to help keep your wife occupied if she doesn't play.

I've also heard Ghost Town http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2668 is pretty cool, it's the next one on my list.

Swezy, I can partner up with you if you want to take on Swope.
It is probably the easiest of all our fine courses.
I thought it but did not want to take on full commitment.

MrJames

You're on Mr. Mayor!

What exactly are the responsibilities of a Course Coordinator?
