Found and Lost / Lost and found at P Hill
« on: December 28, 2013, 05:17:59 PM »
Hole one at  P Hill caught a bad head wind and landed my blizzard destroyer 15 ft out on the ice. After the round I went home got a rake and a rope to retrieve it. When I got there someone had already gotten mine but there was another one out there that I was able to get get. So if you threw one on the lake pm me, there was no name or number. And since I haven't gotten a call on mine I will let karma deal with that person.

General Banter / Jammed locks

Need some suggestions on locks that either barely work or won't unlock. Looking for suggestions other than bolt cutters and replacement since it seems that would be expensive.

Water Works / WW hole #13
« on: November 20, 2013, 04:52:44 PM »
So today I went to a home to do an estimate for work, happened to be the house that backs up to hole 13 at WW that has the sand volleyball court in their back yard. Once I told them I played they had great things to say about all the people that they see daily from their back deck. The only thing they could mention was they installed a gate with a sign saying please use gate, so when someone needed to get a disc back they wouldn't damage their fence. The say people still climb the fence and end up breaking it. So please if you go in their yard, use the gate. Along with that they have accumulated over 100 discs that people didn't retrieve. I looked thru about Half and saw several names I recognize. They are willing to sell the discs back for a dollar each. I bought what I had money for, some with names some without. If it has a name I'll be calling you. I plan on going back when they find the rest they have in their basement a talk them into giving me the rest. Very nice people, they just want a little comp for their fence being trampled.

Sad to report it appears as though the local zoo across the street from the course is relocating all their animals.  A round without hearing the monkeys heckling me on hole 10 just wont be the same.

General Banter / Is it lost or is it found?
« on: August 30, 2013, 03:19:24 PM »
Sooo what is the opinion on a person losing a disc in a lake, then months later finding someone using the disc?  It's a specialty dye disc with the name and number marked out. The person says he got it out of the water and "doesn't call people". Seems shameless to me.

As it continues to get darker earlier I will move the start time back. Also thinking with it getting dark earlier it may be an idea to have a glow round after the reg league round once a month. Input??

There will not be a league July 4 at P Hill. Everyone should enjoy this holiday with family, friends, and explosives. There are several rounds going on there during the day. I know of at least one at 9:30. See you all next week.

General Banter / Road trip
« on: June 28, 2013, 08:09:12 PM »
So my family and I took a road trip this week. The agreement was I would only play three times. First course was Moab Utah. I highly recommend this course!  Decent layout and very good tee signs. Only down side was about half the holes were blind shots, a spotter would be huge here. Side note, don't use soft plastic such as wizards, voodoo, judges. When you hit a cactus, and you will, it takes forever to get all the needles out.
Next I played Page AZ. Don't waste your time going here!!  No pads, no tee signs, no numbers on baskets. The only way to tell where to tee off from is a white circle painted on a rock, problem is its the desert, there are thousands of rocks. So I pretty much had to make up my own course. Oh and they painted the baskets to stand out, good idea except they painted the chains too, bad idea. Course has huge potential, I'm guessing they either don't have the funds or knowledge of the game.
Lastly I played Alamosa CO.. Love this course, not long but Definitly technical with all the trees and dead fall, very well layed out!! I believe the locals must take great care of this course, every pad had a broom to clear off the sand. I was pleased with my 48 while looking for mountain lions to attack, there was a sign warning of it and how to fend off one. Great trip, can't wait till Oct for my next one down to New Orleans.
