FTL is a great group of guys, and I had a blast. I wasn't even that upset that I only won 2 skin and my tags plummeted...
54→182 KCFDC
91→130 DD

I won't make it to Emporia this week, but maybe I can redeem myself next Friday.  Anyone that hasn't checked otu the Friday Travelling league should, especially now before all the regular leagues get going.

Looking forward to blowing off work on Friday afternoons this season.

Joe,  I by no means meant to make you upset, I have no one to blame but myself. Your name has been removed.

I had a great couple of rounds with you over the last few months, and look forward to playing with you again!

Myself and Andy Portwood tied in the Rosedale Open and Kan-U-Wyco this last weekend.

At least we thought we tied at the WYCO, but we didn't actually tie, I shot 1 stroke less, which meant he beat me by a stroke.

Anyone confused? In the final round, my front 9 score added up to a 34, but was marked a 35. Don't worry  I'm not mad at anyone but myself.  I checked and initialed the card and when the official score was counted, the mistake was found.  I then was given a 2-stroke penalty on top of my actual score per PDGA rule 805.02 section H, #2.

While I was pretty upset when I realized what happened, its not too big of a deal since it only dropped me from 3rd to 4th.  If it dropped me into a 4-way tie for 5th, i'd be much more upset. Andy had been nothing but positive and fun to play with the whole round so If I was going to take a 2-stoke penalty, at least the now sole owner of 3rd place was deserving of it. It was a great weekend, and I was pretty happy with my play overall.

Congratulations Andy! I've now gone head to head with you 3 times, and can't seem to beat you.

I post this jokingly with a smile because it doesn't really matter that much in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully I will learn my lesson and never make the same mistake when there's more on the line. Moving forward, the most upsetting thing is that with the 2-stroke penalty, that round went from 911 rated to 898, I would have loved to shoot over 900 each round.

Remember to triple-check your scorecards people, even when you've played 4 rounds that weekend and you're physically and mentally drained. Just do all the calculations on your phone twice or however many times it takes to leave no doubt in your mind that the score on the card is accurate.

Please excuse the rant, but if just one person can learn from my mistake, then something good can come from my small misfortune.

Have the pin placements been set?

Or does anyone know what they will be?

As of now there are 25 of us in the Intermediate division. 12 from Kansas, 9 from Missouri and 4 from unlisted states.  Since we will all most likely NOT make the cut for this year's team challenge, I'm going to put 10.00 on the KS side having the lower total score for the tournament. If the numbers are still disproportionate the day of the tournament, I'll bet on the lower average score.

The avg rating for the MO team (of the players who are currently rated) is 883.
The avg rating for the KS team (of the players who are currently rated) is 858.833 . or a difference of 24.167
Last year in the Intermediate division of this event, each stroke averaged a 10.27 point round rating difference.

I'll put the spread at 2 strokes per round or 4 strokes for the tournament.

Team        Rd1 Spread          Rd2 Spread           Final Spread
Kansas         +2.35                      +2.35                      +4.7
Missouri         -2.35                      +2.35                      +4.7

I guess you can bet on whatever you want, either round or the total. I've done the same calculations for Kan-U-WYCO if anyone is interested.

Any takers?
I probably don't need to say this, but anyone betting against their own team will not count and should be taken outside and beaten.

As of now there are 10 of us in the Intermediate division. 5 from Kansas, 5 form Missouri.  Since we will all most likely NOT make the cut for this year's team challenge, why not bring a little team aspect to this event? I'm going to put 10.00 on the KS side this Sunday.

The avg rating for the MO team (of the players who are currently rated) is 888.5.
The avg rating for the KS team (of the players who are currently rated) is 844.5. or a difference of 44.
Last year in the Intermediate division of this event, each stroke averaged a 8.56 point round rating difference.

Based on the current math, the per-round spread is 5.14 in favor of the Missouri side.

Team        Rd1 Spread          Rd2 Spread           Final Spread
Kansas         +5.14                      +5.14                      +10.28
Missouri         +5.14                      +5.14                      +10.28

I guess you can bet on whatever you want, either round or the total. I've done the same calculations for The Rosedale Open if anyone is interested.

Any takers?

Thanks...

I am only assuming that "with the ropes" means there will be tighter in bounds/out of bounds lines...

If I were to play the course before the tournament, is there any way to know (approximately) where those OB lines will be?

It's safe to assume that this is 2 rounds up top with pins being moved in-between rounds?

I was trolling through old posts and found this... did anyone ever get an actual map of these holes???

I have a basket now and would love to play some of these casually, or if we want to get a challenge going, let's do it!

I probably just forgot to pick it up on hole 4 at Rosedale a few weeks ago. It doesn't have my name on it since its a putter... if you see anyone with it and they can't shiw show you other Brett Mathews discs in their bag, id gladly send a reward your way for returning it...
