General Banter / Re: Non DG player need winter coat

Maybe this is something that the KCFDC can get behind in the future. Hold a charity tournament in November. The entry fee is a youth coat. I bet that some of the local stores, and big disc companies would gladly donate prize packs, and it would do nothing but give great publicity to a growing sport, as well as our fine organization. Just a thought. (plus charity work always allows me to have a pass from the wife to spend the day outside the house). KCFDC Coats for Kids Charity Disc Golf Tournament.

General Banter / Re: New match play format suggestion.

That... hurt my brain to read. As a former (very good) ball golfer, the best way to do a match play format (64 players), is at 7am send off 1 & 64, then repeat 32 times, as the first two groups come in, they head right back out (the two winners of the first two matches). Since Disc, played typically, is about exactly half of the time to play a round compared to ball, you fit in 3 matches on the first day, then 3 on the second (because match play ends faster than 18 holes typically, unless it's the top 64 in the world).

That is just a two day tourney, probably better suited for a summer weekend. You are welcome, and yes I am open for job inquiries.

Trust me when I say that you do not want to learn to putt from these two. Now if you want to learn about Hydroevacuation... Pond draining IS there specialty.

I saw that Dick. Funny thing is he was at the salt flats, so i wonder if that helped any. I once tossed a Mini out of an airplane...does that count? 13000 ft?

Ty: Do you do drugs Danny?
Danny: Every day...
Ty: What seems to be the problem then?

Prairie Center / Tree on #14
« on: October 14, 2014, 03:16:04 pm »
Hey just a heads up, the tree that is to the left of #14 (big boy near the pond), a section of it has come off and lodged itself onto the hedge tree next to the basket. BE VERY AWARE when you are heading toward the basket, it would be wise to contact Olathe P&R and let them know. It is large enough to crush a tank, let alone a small little flicker like myself. I sent an email, but if someone has a direct contact it is a safety issue.

Also, I'm surprised no one is concerned about playing Water Works. It is the one course where someone broke their ankle after a big rain during the Wide Open.

The Nailer almost broke his yesterday playing out there....good luck to all in the tournament today!

*Ams Must be Pre-Registered by Friday September 5th at 6pm to receive a Players Pack*

So, what's in the players pack?

Suffice it to say this is a GREAT cause, and the players pack I believe if you signed up was a disc and a shirt.  The fee is nominal and the event is great.  Please do remember that NO DAY OF REGISTRATION IS ACCEPTED-this means many of our "local pros" that have a tendency to show up Saturday morning.  You want in, register in advance, or call Scott and let him know you will be there, or Drew.

Ice Bucket Challenge ACCEPTED! the person that gets to dump the ice on me I think that it should be auctioned off that morning on the course.......provided that is ok by Bitter79, or does that $50 only allow you to do so?

Yep i'd rather someone who know's you do it, I'll just put $50 in the fund for the enticement for you to do so, auction away!
