We had 2 people opt out of the Ace fund last night...

Hey, now there's an idea. Looks like I'll be saving that $1 from now on after all. Viva la troco del taco!

One good mid-grade saw and one sharp chain will cut out a line in a few hours.

Yeah, one of your lines, maybe. Like #2 and #14 at Young-- those ain't lines, those are spaces where a disc might fly through if the thrower is lucky. ;D

line paths with rocks...

Good one, I bet that's not something people think of very often. It's the little things, y'all!

Nice post, Coop. I just don't get the part where you say you're hesitant to post it. That was a whole bunch of "telling it like it is", and there ain't nothin' wrong with that. Let's face it-- most of the time, the truth, or "telling it like it is", sounds negative. Don't let the idea that folks might think you're an arse for speaking the truth keep you from doing just that. Sure beats burying our heads in the sand and pretending that everything is cool all the time when it isn't.

Anyway, yeah, nice post.

Why should the good deeds of another group be used to shame this group?

Yeah, Jack! This group could have easily been shamed without mentioning another group!

It does though beg the question though how come a church can get 100 people to the park to help, and we are having trouble getting 5......

Duh, it's because the KCFDC is comprised of God-less heathens. ;D

I believe though that this would be your first rated round there Mr. Keizer......

The more serious players might like that stuff and care about that stuff, but I don't get why it can't be optional.

I'm still trying to figure out what the extra $1 on the entry fee was for. Felt like regular old Cliff Drive league to me, complete with my typical sh1tty back 9 performance. Can we opt out of the PDGA part of it next time? I'd much rather put that dollar toward a truck taco on the way home.

No, I wont be, and I get that Tom, and I also realize that at this point we have been working on the course for over 13 years to make it happen.  I was walking through the course last night thinking about all the downed trees in the park, the trees that have been removed, the trees I could see dying, and I want to change it so that we are always enjoying some of the wonderful nestled woods.

I don't live by any illusion, because when we started Cliff Drive we had: Swope, Rosie Top/Bottom, WaterWorks, and Olathe to play.  WyCo came on about the time that we started at Cliff, but it needed much less work than Cliff did.  Now with close to 40 places to play within 25 miles of Cliff, how do you attract that dedicated soul to help with the work needed to muster change, and make it better?  They feel that entitlement in their "local" course.  We are growing more than we should no courses, and not enough on people realizing that work is needed.  Many still think that P&R do all the work.

It will take years of our efforts and partnerships with others to make this what I think will be one of the best 2 course disc golf complexes available, but once it is there, people will remember the work they did, or the work they observed in order to play the courses.

I know there were a great deal of work days before I came along in '06/'07, but the two that stick out for me are the one where we were preparing for concrete pads, and the one a couple years ago when we hit the LDO party area real hard. They were large enough to warrant good folks coming out and cooking hotdogs on the grill for everyone, or Jack walking into Gates BBQ and answering "21 BEEF ON BUNS!" before the door had even closed and before the girl behind the counter could finish with her "Hi, may I help you!"
When you've seen what can happen when people from all over town come together for a common goal, it's hard not to get frustrated when subsequent efforts aren't as successful.

Now then, this weekend of the 18th, I seem to remember the wife and I having something planned for that day. I shall find out from her what the deal is, and if there's nothing going on then I will absolutely be there with my little green truck and we shall kick all kinds of trash.

Just an observation that I found a little sad, all thus is just from our forum.

Mike - If you're going to be a dick, then post somewhere else.  Maybe comments like this are the reason people are not in a hurry to help out with work days you organize.  I'm becoming less and less inclined to help out with Cliff Drive because of bullsh1t attitude like this.

Hey Rob, since you blocked my reply to your private message, I have to post it here, in the beer thread. Anyway, I'm happy to have provided you with an excuse for not attending work days you weren't planning on attending anyway.

Love, Mike.

It's amazing when someone feels the need to judge a person’s opinion....I had the same thing happen with Rob on the cost of worlds.    Rob, condescending and disrespectful remarks are probably more of a hindrance than an opinion.

To be fair, Rob and I have never met and I can understand why he might think I was being a dick with my post. It does kinda read like I was being a dick. But just so Rob knows, I'm only messing around and making fun of beer snobs-- I still love those beer snobs I'm making fun of and there's no harm or malice intended whatsoever.
