This isn't set in stone yet, but it is pretty darn close to what this is going to be looking like.
They close soccer fields all the time to prevent damage. How is this any different? Most ball golf courses have the money to effect repairs when damage occurs. We don't have that luxury.
I recall a time a few years back when the baskets were all pulled at Swope for for several weeks to allow grass to get a good start. Perhaps it's time to consider that option. Short term pain for long term gain....
Just because only a couple people can make it to the work day doesn't mean they're the only ones that care about the course. It's going to be muddy but I never let that stop me from playing.
I guess I'll have to play Birdland instead.
Thanks Keizer for coming out and putting this on the mark. Mike and I got quite a bit one on the new hole #1 for clearing out. Then I spent about 2 hours on #1 cleaning up the side of the hill, and working on getting some more control on the front part on the hole. I appreciate Mike making part of his life to improve the courses. I thank him for making the effort and following through. Thanks Mike!
I am pulling for Michigan to win. And Elijah's moment is his own to bear, just like Webber's moment is his to bear. I do feel sorry for Elijah, unlike Webber, he won't have the choice of trying to find redemption next year. Elijah's moment isn't that big of a deal to us (KU Fan's) but thanks for being cool about rubbing it in. You've always been a man of character and you never seem to have an issue reinforcing that belief about yourself when the time is right.
Elijah's moment will disappear into the ether of other failed KU tournament runs (UT El Paso, Bucknell, N Iowa, etc) We have so many... it's hard to remember them all. I guess this feels good for you Michigan fans. After twenty long quiet years, you're back here making another go of it. That's almost enough time for the Fab Five's own children to have grown up and started for Michigan. Wow. That's a long, long time.
Also, the reason I'm not following this thread is because when KU's season is over, I stop giving a hoot about College Hoops until the USA Today comes out in October with the preseason rankings. When that happens, you'll hear from me again.
